Psalm 69:1-5

Save Me, O God

For the choir director. According to [a]Shoshannim. Of David.

69 Save me, O God,
For the (A)waters have [b]threatened my life.
I have sunk in deep (B)clay, and there is no foothold;
I have come into deep waters, and a [c](C)flood overflows me.
I am (D)weary with my calling out; my throat is parched;
My (E)eyes fail while I wait for my God.
Those (F)who hate me without cause are more than the hairs of my head;
Those who would [d]destroy me (G)are powerful, being wrongfully my enemies;
(H)What I did not steal, I then have to restore.

O God, it is You who knows (I)my folly,
And [e](J)all my guilt is not hidden from You.

Psalm 69:30-36

30 I will (A)praise the name of God with song
And (B)magnify Him with (C)thanksgiving.
31 And this will (D)please Yahweh better than an ox
Or a young bull with horns and hoofs.
32 The (E)humble [a]see it and are glad;
You who seek God, (F)let your heart [b]revive.
33 For (G)Yahweh hears the needy
And (H)does not despise His who are prisoners.

34 Let (I)heaven and earth praise Him,
The seas and (J)everything that moves in them.
35 For God will (K)save Zion and (L)build the cities of Judah,
That they may dwell there and (M)possess it.
36 The (N)seed of His slaves will inherit it,
And those who love His name (O)will dwell in it.

Isaiah 41:14-20

14 Do not fear, you (A)worm Jacob, you men of Israel;
I will help you,” declares Yahweh, “[a]and (B)your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel.
15 Behold, I have made you a new, sharp threshing sledge with double edges;
(C)You will thresh the (D)mountains and pulverize them,
And will make the hills like chaff.
16 You will (E)winnow them, and the wind will carry them away,
And the storm will scatter them;
But you will (F)rejoice in Yahweh;
You will boast in the Holy One of Israel.

17 “The [b]afflicted and needy are seeking (G)water, but there is none,
And their tongue is parched with thirst;
I, Yahweh, (H)will answer them Myself,
As the God of Israel I (I)will not forsake them.
18 I will open (J)rivers on the bare heights
And springs in the midst of the valleys;
I will make (K)the wilderness a pool of water
And the dry land fountains of water.
19 I will put the cedar in the wilderness,
The acacia and the (L)myrtle and the [c]olive tree;
I will place the (M)juniper in the desert
Together with the box tree and the cypress,
20 That (N)they may see and know,
And establish and gain insight as well,
That the (O)hand of Yahweh has done this,
And the Holy One of Israel has created it.

John 1:29-34

29 On the next day, he *saw Jesus coming to him and *said, “Behold, (A)the Lamb of God who (B)takes away the sin of the world! 30 This is He of whom I said, ‘(C)After me comes a man who has been [a]ahead of me, (D)for He existed before me.’ 31 I did not know [b]Him, but so that He might be manifested to Israel, I came baptizing with water.” 32 And John (E)bore witness saying, “(F)I have beheld the Spirit descending as a dove out of heaven, and He abided on Him. 33 And I did not know [c]Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water said to me, ‘The One upon whom you see the Spirit descending and abiding on Him, (G)this is the One who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’ 34 And I myself have seen, and have borne witness that this is (H)the Son of God.”
