Psalm 69:1-5

69 1 The complaints, prayers, fervent zeal and great anguish of David is set forth as a figure of Christ and all his members. 21 The malicious cruelty of the enemies. 22 And their punishment also. 26 Where Judas and such traitors are accursed. 30 He gathereth courage in his affliction, and offereth praises unto God, 32 Which are more acceptable than all sacrifices: whereof all the afflicted may take comfort. 35 Finally, he doth provoke all creatures to praises, prophesying of the kingdom of Christ, and the preservation of the Church, where all the faithful, 27 And their seed shall dwell forever.

To him that excelleth upon [a]Shoshannim. A Psalm of David.

Save me, O God: for the [b]waters are entered even to my soul.

I stick fast in the deep mire, where no [c]stay is: I am come into deep waters, and the streams run over me.

I am weary of crying: my throat is dry: mine [d]eyes fail, while I wait for my God.

They that hate me without a cause, are more than the hairs of mine head: they that would destroy me, and are mine enemies [e]falsely, are mighty, so that I restored that which I [f]took not.

O God, thou knowest my [g]foolishness, and my faults are not hid from thee.

Psalm 69:30-36

30 I will praise the Name of God with a song, and magnify him with thanksgiving.

31 This also shall please the Lord better than a [a]young bullock that hath horns and hoofs.

32 The humble shall see this, and they that seek God shall be glad, and your heart shall live.

33 For the Lord heareth the poor, and despiseth not his [b]prisoners.

34 Let heaven and earth praise him: the seas and all that moveth in them.

35 For God will save Zion, and build the cities of Judah, that men may dwell there and have it in possession.

36 The [c]seed also of his servants shall inherit it: and they that love his name shall dwell therein.

Isaiah 41:14-20

14 Fear not thou [a]worm, Jacob, and ye men of Israel: I will help thee, saith the Lord, and thy redeemer the holy One of Israel.

15 Behold, I will make thee a roller, and a new threshing instrument having teeth: thou shalt thresh the [b]mountains, and bring them to powder, and shalt make the hills as chaff.

16 Thou shalt fan them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the whirlwind shall scatter them: and thou shalt rejoice in the Lord, and shalt glory in the holy One of Israel.

17 When [c]the poor and the needy seek water, and there is none (their tongue faileth for thirst: I the Lord will hear them: I the God of Israel will not forsake them:)

18 I will open rivers in the tops of the hills, and fountains in the midst of the valleys: I will make the wilderness as a pool of water, and the waste [d]land as springs of water.

19 I will set in the wilderness the cedar, the Shittah, and the myrrhe tree, and the pine tree, and I will set in the wilderness the fir tree, the elm and the box tree together.

20 Therefore let them see and know, and let them consider and understand together that the hand of the Lord hath done this, and the holy One of Israel [e]hath created it.

John 1:29-34

29 [a]The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold [b]that Lamb of God, which [c]taketh away the [d]sin of the world.

30 This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man, which was before me: for he was better than I.

31 And [e]I knew him not: but because he should be declared to Israel, therefore am I come, baptizing with water.

32 [f]So John bare record, saying, I beheld, (A)that Spirit come down from heaven, like a dove, and it abode upon him,

33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, he said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see that Spirit come down, and tarry still on him, that is he which baptizeth with the holy Ghost.

34 And I saw, and bare record that this is [g]that Son of God.
