Yahweh Is My Strength and My Shield
Of David.
28 To You, O Yahweh, I call;
My (A)rock, do not be silent to me,
Lest if You (B)are hesitant toward me,
I will become like those who (C)go down to the pit.
2 Hear the (D)voice of my supplications when I cry to You for help,
When I (E)lift up my hands (F)toward [a]Your holy (G)sanctuary.
3 (H)Do not drag me away with the wicked
And with workers of iniquity,
Who (I)speak peace with their neighbors,
While evil is in their hearts.
4 Give to them (J)according to their work and according to the evil of their actions;
Give to them according to the deeds of their hands;
Return their dealings upon them.
5 Because they (K)do not regard the works of Yahweh
Nor the deeds of His hands,
He will tear them down and not build them up.
6 Blessed be Yahweh,
Because He (L)has heard the voice of my supplications.
7 Yahweh is my (M)strength and my (N)shield;
My heart (O)trusts in Him, and I am helped;
Therefore (P)my heart exults,
And with (Q)my song I shall thank Him.
8 Yahweh is [b]their (R)strength,
And He is a [c](S)strong defense of salvation to His anointed.
9 (T)Save Your people and bless (U)Your inheritance;
Be their (V)shepherd also, and (W)carry them forever.
Moses Commissions Joshua
15 Then Moses spoke to Yahweh, saying, 16 “(A)May Yahweh, the God of the spirits of all flesh, appoint a man over the congregation, 17 who (B)will go out [a]and come in before them, and who will lead them out and [b]bring them in, so that the congregation of Yahweh will not be (C)like sheep which have no shepherd.” 18 So Yahweh said to Moses, “[c]Take Joshua the son of Nun, a man (D)in whom is the Spirit, and (E)lay your hand on him; 19 and have him stand before Eleazar the priest and before all the congregation, and (F)commission him in their sight. 20 And you shall put some of your [d]splendor on him, in order that all the congregation of the sons of Israel may obey him. 21 Moreover, he shall stand before Eleazar the priest, who shall inquire for him (G)by the judgment of the Urim before Yahweh. At his [e]command they shall go out, and at his [f]command they shall come in, both he and the sons of Israel with him, even all the congregation.” 22 So Moses did just as Yahweh commanded him; and he took Joshua and had him stand before Eleazar the priest and before all the congregation. 23 Then he laid his hands on him and (H)commissioned him, just as Yahweh had spoken by the hand of Moses.
8 Remember Jesus Christ, (A)risen from the dead, of the (B)seed of David, (C)according to my gospel, 9 [a]for which I (D)endure hardship even to (E)chains as a (F)criminal. But (G)the word of God (H)has not been chained. 10 For this reason (I)I endure all things for (J)the sake of the elect, (K)so that they also may obtain the (L)salvation, which is in (M)Christ Jesus, with (N)eternal glory. 11 (O)It is a trustworthy saying:
