Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
Vav
41 May Your (A)lovingkindnesses also come to me, O Yahweh,
Your salvation (B)according to Your [a]word;
42 So I will have an (C)answer for him who (D)reproaches me,
For I trust in Your word.
43 And do not take away the word of truth utterly from my mouth,
For I [b](E)wait for Your judgments.
44 So I will (F)keep Your law continually,
Forever and ever.
45 And I will (G)walk in a wide place,
For I (H)seek Your precepts.
46 I will also speak of Your testimonies (I)before kings
And I shall not be ashamed.
47 I shall [c](J)delight in Your commandments,
Which I (K)love.
48 And I shall lift up my hands to Your commandments,
Which I (L)love;
And I will (M)muse on Your statutes.
16 “This day Yahweh your God commands you to do these statutes and judgments. You shall therefore be careful to do them (A)with all your heart and with all your soul. 17 (B)You have today declared Yahweh to be your God, and [a]that you would walk in His ways and keep His statutes, His commandments, and His judgments, and listen to His voice. 18 And Yahweh has today declared you to be (C)His people, a treasured possession, as He promised you, and [b]that you should keep all His commandments; 19 and [c]that He will (D)set you high above all nations which He has made, for praise, a name, and beauty; and that you shall be (E)a holy people to Yahweh your God, as He has spoken.”
Curses on Mount Ebal
27 Then Moses and the elders of Israel commanded the people, saying, “Keep the entire commandment which I am commanding you today. 2 (F)So it will be on the day when you cross the Jordan to the land which Yahweh your God gives you, that you shall set up for yourself large stones and coat them with lime 3 and write on them all the words of this law when you cross over, so that you may enter the land which Yahweh your God gives you, (G)a land flowing with milk and honey, as Yahweh, the God of your fathers, [d]promised you. 4 So it will be when you cross the Jordan, you shall set up (H)on Mount Ebal, these stones, [e]as I am commanding you today, and you shall coat them with lime. 5 Moreover, you shall build there an altar to Yahweh your God, an altar of stones; you (I)shall not [f]wield an iron tool on them. 6 You shall build the altar of Yahweh your God of [g]uncut stones, and you shall offer on it burnt offerings to Yahweh your God; 7 and you shall sacrifice peace offerings and eat there and (J)be glad before Yahweh your God.
The Rich Young Ruler
16 (A)And behold, someone came to Him and said, “Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may have (B)eternal life?” 17 And He said to him, “Why are you asking Me about what is good? There is only One who is good; but (C)if you wish to enter into life, keep the commandments.” 18 Then he *said to Him, “Which ones?” And Jesus said, “(D)You shall not murder; You shall not commit adultery; You shall not steal; You shall not bear false witness; 19 (E)Honor your father and mother; and (F)You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” 20 The young man *said to Him, “All these things I have kept; what am I still lacking?” 21 Jesus said to him, “If you wish to be [a]complete, go and (G)sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have (H)treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” 22 But when the young man heard this statement, he went away grieving; for he was one who owned much property.
