Psalm 119:49-56

Zayin

49 Remember the word to Your slave,
[a]In which You have made me wait.
50 This is my (A)comfort in my affliction,
That Your word has [b]revived me.
51 The arrogant (B)utterly scoff at me,
Yet I do not (C)turn aside from Your law.
52 I have (D)remembered Your judgments from [c]of old, O Yahweh,
And comfort myself.
53 Burning (E)indignation has seized me because of the wicked,
Who (F)forsake Your law.
54 Your statutes have become my songs
In the house of my (G)sojourning.
55 I (H)remember (I)in the night Your name, O Yahweh,
So I keep Your law.
56 This has become mine,
[d]That I (J)observe Your precepts.

Deuteronomy 6:10-25

10 “Then it will be, when Yahweh your God brings you into the land which He swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give you, (A)great and good cities which you did not build, 11 and houses full of all good things which you did not fill, and hewn cisterns which you did not dig, vineyards and olive trees which you did not plant, and (B)you will eat and be satisfied, 12 then beware, lest (C)you forget Yahweh who brought you from the land of Egypt, out of the house of [a]slavery. 13 (D)Yahweh your God you shall [b]fear; and Him you shall serve; and by His name you shall (E)swear. 14 (F)You shall not walk after other gods, any of the gods of the peoples who surround you, 15 for Yahweh your God in the midst of you is a (G)jealous God—lest the anger of Yahweh your God be kindled against you, and He destroy you from the face of the earth.

16 (H)You shall not put Yahweh your God to the test, (I)as you tested Him at Massah. 17 (J)You should diligently keep the commandments of Yahweh your God and His testimonies and His statutes which He has commanded you. 18 And you shall do what is right and good in the sight of Yahweh, that (K)it may be well with you and that you may go in and possess the good land which Yahweh swore to give your fathers, 19 by driving out all your enemies from before you, as Yahweh has spoken.

20 (L)When your son asks you in time to come, saying, ‘What do the testimonies and the statutes and the judgments mean which Yahweh our God commanded you?’ 21 then you shall say to your son, ‘We were slaves to Pharaoh in Egypt, and Yahweh brought us from Egypt with a strong hand. 22 Moreover, Yahweh showed great and calamitous signs and wonders before our eyes against Egypt, Pharaoh, and all his household; 23 but He brought us out from there in order to bring us in, to give us the land which He had sworn to our fathers.’ 24 So Yahweh commanded us to do all these statutes, (M)to fear Yahweh our God for our good all our days and (N)for our survival, as it is today. 25 (O)And it will be righteousness for us if we [c]are careful to do all this commandment before Yahweh our God, just as He commanded us.

John 11:45-57

45 (A)Therefore many of the Jews (B)who came to Mary, and (C)saw what He had done, believed in Him. 46 But some of them went to the (D)Pharisees and told them the things which Jesus had done.

The Leaders Plot to Kill Jesus

47 Therefore (E)the chief priests and the Pharisees (F)gathered the [a](G)Sanhedrin together, and were saying, “What are we doing? For this man is doing many [b](H)signs. 48 If we let Him go on like this, all will believe in Him, and the Romans will come and take away both our (I)place and our nation.” 49 But one of them, (J)Caiaphas, (K)who was high priest that year, said to them, “You know nothing at all, 50 nor do you take into account that (L)it is better for you that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation not perish.” 51 Now he did not say this from himself, but (M)being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus was going to die for the nation, 52 and not for the nation only, but in order that He might also (N)gather together into one the children of God who are scattered abroad. 53 So from that day on they (O)planned together to kill Him.

54 Therefore Jesus (P)no longer continued to walk openly among the Jews, but went away from there to the region near the wilderness, into a city called (Q)Ephraim; and there He stayed with the disciples.

55 Now (R)the Passover of the Jews was near, and many went up to Jerusalem from the region before the Passover (S)to purify themselves. 56 So they (T)were seeking Jesus, and were saying to one another as they stood in the temple, “What do you think? That He will not come to the feast at all?” 57 Now (U)the chief priests and the Pharisees had given orders that if anyone knew where He was, he was to report it, so that they might seize Him.
