Psalm 105[a]
105 Give thanks to the Lord.
Call on his name.
Make known his accomplishments among the nations.
2 Sing to him.
Make music to him.
Tell about all his miraculous deeds.
3 Boast about his holy name.
Let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.
4 Seek the Lord and the strength he gives.
Seek his presence continually.
5 Recall the miraculous deeds he performed,
his mighty acts and the judgments he decreed,[b]
6 O children[c] of Abraham,[d] God’s[e] servant,
you descendants[f] of Jacob, God’s[g] chosen ones.
37 He brought his people[a] out enriched[b] with silver and gold;
none of his tribes stumbled.
38 Egypt was happy when they left,
for they were afraid of them.[c]
39 He spread out a cloud for a cover,[d]
and provided a fire to light up the night.
40 They asked for food,[e] and he sent quail;
he satisfied them with food from the sky.[f]
41 He opened up a rock and water flowed out;
a river ran through dry regions.
42 Yes,[g] he remembered the sacred promise[h]
he made to Abraham his servant.
43 When he led his people out, they rejoiced;
his chosen ones shouted with joy.[i]
44 He handed the territory of nations over to them,
and they took possession of what other peoples had produced,[j]
45 so that they might keep his commands
and obey[k] his laws.
Praise the Lord.
22 And[a] on the sixth day they gathered twice as much food, two omers[b] per person;[c] and all the leaders[d] of the community[e] came and told[f] Moses. 23 He said to them, “This is what the Lord has said: ‘Tomorrow is a time of cessation from work,[g] a holy Sabbath[h] to the Lord. Whatever you want to[i] bake, bake today;[j] whatever you want to boil, boil today; whatever is left put aside for yourselves to be kept until morning.’”
24 So they put it aside until the morning, just as Moses had commanded, and it did not stink, nor were there any worms in it. 25 Moses said, “Eat it today, for today is a Sabbath to the Lord; today you will not find it in the area.[k] 26 Six days you will gather it, but on the seventh day, the Sabbath, there will not be any.”
27 On the seventh day some of the people went out to gather it, but they found nothing. 28 So the Lord said to Moses, “How long do you refuse[l] to obey my commandments and my instructions? 29 See, because the Lord has given you the Sabbath, that is why[m] he is giving you food for two days on the sixth day. Each of you stay where you are;[n] let no one[o] go out of his place on the seventh day.” 30 So the people rested on the seventh day.
23 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “I tell you the truth,[a] it will be hard for a rich person to enter the kingdom of heaven! 24 Again I say,[b] it is easier for a camel[c] to go through the eye of a needle[d] than for a rich person to enter into the kingdom of God.” 25 The[e] disciples were greatly astonished when they heard this and said, “Then who can be saved?”[f] 26 Jesus[g] looked at them and replied, “This is impossible for mere humans,[h] but for God all things are possible.” 27 Then Peter said[i] to him, “Look,[j] we have left everything to follow you![k] What then will there be for us?” 28 Jesus[l] said to them, “I tell you the truth:[m] In the age when all things are renewed,[n] when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging[o] the twelve tribes of Israel. 29 And whoever has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much[p] and will inherit eternal life. 30 But many who are first will be last, and the last first.
