Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
Tell His Wonders for Israel
Psalm 105
1 Praise Adonai, call upon His Name.
Make known His deeds among the peoples.
2 Sing to Him, sing praises to Him—
tell about all His wonders!
3 Glory in His holy Name.
Let the heart of those who seek Adonai rejoice.
4 Seek Adonai and His strength,
seek His face always.
5 Remember His wonders that He has done,
His miracles and the judgments of His mouth,
6 O seed of Abraham, His servant,
O children of Jacob, His chosen ones.
37 Then He brought them out with silver and gold,
and no one among His tribes faltered.
38 Egypt was glad when they left—
for dread of them had fallen on them.
39 He spread a cloud as a covering
and fire to give light at night.
40 They asked, and He brought quail,
and satisfied them with the bread of heaven.[a]
41 He opened a rock, and waters gushed out,
flowed as a river in dry places.
42 For He remembered His holy word
to Abraham His servant.
43 So He brought forth His people with joy,
His chosen ones with singing.
44 He gave them the lands of the nations,
so they inherited the labor of the peoples
45 so that they might keep His statutes
and observe His laws.
Halleluyah!
Bitter Waters Made Sweet
22 Then Moses led Israel onward from the Sea of Reeds. They went out into the wilderness of Shur. But they travelled three days in the wilderness and found no water. 23 When they came to Marah, they could not drink from the waters because they were bitter. On account of this it was called Marah. 24 So the people complained to Moses saying, “What are we going to drink?”
25 So he cried out to Adonai, and Adonai showed him a tree. When he threw it into the waters, they were made sweet.
There He made a statute and an ordinance for them, and there He tested them. 26 He said, “If you diligently listen to the voice of Adonai your God, do what is right in His eyes, pay attention to His mitzvot, and keep all His decrees, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have put on the Egyptians. For I am Adonai who heals you.”
27 Then they came to Elim, where there were twelve springs of water and seventy palm trees. So they camped there by the waters.
Final Warnings
13 This is the third time I am coming to you. “By the testimony[a] of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.” [b] 2 I spoke a warning, when I was with you the second time. Though now I am away, I am again speaking a warning to those who have sinned before, as well as to all the rest, that if I come again, I will not spare anyone— 3 since you are demanding proof that Messiah is speaking through me. He is not weak toward you, but powerful among you. 4 For He was crucified in weakness, yet He lives through the power of God. For we also are weak in Him, yet we shall live with Him by God’s power toward you.
