Version
Psalm 105:1-6

God takes care of his people[a]

105 Thank the Lord!
    Make his name famous!
Tell people in all the nations
    what he has done.
Sing songs and make music
    to praise him!
Tell people about the miracles that he has done.
Boast about his holy name.[b]
Everybody who wants to worship the Lord
    should be very happy!
Ask the Lord to help you.
Ask him to give you strength.
Always try to be near him
    and worship him.
Remember the great things that he has done.
Remember his miracles,
and the commands that he has spoken.[c]
Remember that you are descendants of God's servant, Abraham.
You are Jacob's descendants,
and God has chosen you to be his people.

Psalm 105:37-45

37 So the Lord led his people out from Egypt.
They took with them valuable silver and gold things.
Nobody among the Israelite people was too weak to go.
38 The Egyptians were happy when they went,
because they were afraid of the Israelites.[a]
39 The Lord made a cloud to cover them
and a fire to give them light at night.
40 When they asked him for food,
he gave them quails to eat.
He fed them with bread from the sky.
41 He broke a rock,
so that water poured out from it.
It ran as a river through the dry places.

42 Yes, the Lord remembered the holy promise
that he had made to his servant, Abraham.
43 So he led his people out from Egypt,
    and they were very happy!
They were the people that he had chosen for himself,
    and they shouted with joy!
44 The Lord gave to them
    the land of other nations.
They enjoyed the good things
that other people had worked to get.
45 Then God's people could obey his commands
    and his laws.
Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!

Exodus 15:22-27

The waters of Marah and Elim

22 Then Moses led the Israelites away from the Red Sea. They travelled into the desert called Shur. They walked into the desert for three days and they could not find any water to drink. 23 Then they arrived at Marah. But they could not drink the water there because it was too bitter. That is why they called that place ‘Marah’.[a]

24 Then the people complained. They spoke against Moses. They said, ‘There is nothing for us to drink!’

25 Then Moses called to the Lord for help. The Lord showed Moses a special tree. Moses threw a branch into the water. Then the water became good for them to drink.

There at Marah, the Lord made a law for the Israelites to obey. He tested them there, to see if they would trust him. 26 He said, ‘Be careful to listen to what the Lord your God says to you. Let him see that you are doing things that are right. Obey his commands and his rules. Then I will not give to you the diseases that I gave to the Egyptians. I am the Lord. I am the one who gives you health.’

27 Then the Israelites arrived at Elim. There they found 12 wells of water and 70 palm trees. The Israelites put up their tents there, where there was water.

2 Corinthians 13:1-4

Paul's third visit to Corinth

13 This is the third time that I will be coming to visit you. Remember this: ‘There must be two or three people to say certainly that another person has done something wrong. Two or three people must agree what has happened.’[a] I have already warned those people who did wrong things before. I did that when I was with you on my second visit. Now I am warning them again, while I am away from you. So, when I come to you the next time, nobody will go free. I will punish those people and all the others who have done wrong things. That will tell you what you want to know about me. You will surely know that I speak with the authority of Christ himself. Christ is not weak when he works in you. He shows his power among you. People killed Christ on the cross as a weak person. But he now lives by God's power. We are also weak as we serve Christ, like he was weak. But we live, because he now lives. So, when we come to you, we will show God's power among you.
