Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
Psalm 105
God’s Faithfulness to His People
1 Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name;
proclaim his deeds among the peoples.(A)
2 Sing to him, sing praise to him;
tell about all his wondrous works!(B)
3 Boast in his holy name;
let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.(C)
4 Seek the Lord and his strength;
seek his face always.(D)
5 Remember the wondrous works he has done,
his wonders, and the judgments he has pronounced,[a](E)
6 you offspring of Abraham his servant,
Jacob’s descendants—his chosen ones.(F)
23 Then Israel went to Egypt;
Jacob lived as an alien in the land of Ham.[a](A)
24 The Lord[b] made his people very fruitful;
he made them more numerous than their foes,(B)
25 whose hearts he turned to hate his people
and to deal deceptively with his servants.(C)
26 He sent Moses his servant,
and Aaron, whom he had chosen.(D)
45 All this happened
so that they might keep his statutes
and obey his instructions.(A)
Hallelujah!
16 “Go and assemble the elders of Israel and say to them: The Lord, the God of your ancestors, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, has appeared to me and said: I have paid close attention to you and to what has been done to you in Egypt.(A) 17 And I have promised you that I will bring you up from the misery of Egypt(B) to the land of the Canaanites, Hethites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites—a land flowing with milk and honey. 18 They will listen to what you say. Then you, along with the elders of Israel, must go to the king of Egypt and say to him: The Lord, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us. Now please let us go on a three-day trip into the wilderness so that we may sacrifice to the Lord our God.(C)
19 “However, I know that the king of Egypt will not allow you to go, even under force from a strong hand.(D) 20 But when I stretch out my hand and strike Egypt with all my miracles that I will perform in it, after that, he will let you go.(E) 21 And I will give these people such favor with the Egyptians that when you go, you will not go empty-handed.(F) 22 Each woman will ask her neighbor and any woman staying in her house for silver and gold jewelry, and clothing, and you will put them on your sons and daughters. So you will plunder the Egyptians.”(G)
7 For the mystery of lawlessness(A) is already at work, but the one now restraining will do so until he is out of the way, 8 and then the lawless one will be revealed. The Lord Jesus will destroy him with the breath of his mouth(B) and will bring him to nothing at the appearance of his coming. 9 The coming of the lawless one is based on Satan’s working, with every kind of miracle, both signs and wonders serving the lie,(C) 10 and with every wicked deception among those who are perishing. They perish because they did not accept the love of the truth and so be saved.(D) 11 For this reason God sends them a strong delusion so that they will believe the lie, 12 so that all will be condemned(E)—those who did not believe(F) the truth but delighted in unrighteousness.
