Psalm 105:1-6

Psalm 105[a]

God’s Fidelity to the Promise

I

Give thanks to the Lord, invoke his name;(A)
    make known among the peoples his deeds!(B)
Sing praise to him, play music;
    proclaim all his wondrous deeds!
Glory in his holy name;
    let hearts that seek the Lord rejoice!
Seek out the Lord and his might;
    constantly seek his face.(C)
Recall the wondrous deeds he has done,
    his wonders and words of judgment,
You descendants of Abraham his servant,
    offspring of Jacob the chosen one!

Psalm 105:23-26

V

23 Then Israel entered Egypt;(A)
    Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham.[a]
24 God greatly increased his people,
    made them more numerous than their foes.(B)
25 He turned their hearts to hate his people,
    to treat his servants deceitfully.(C)
26 He sent his servant Moses,
    and Aaron whom he had chosen.(D)

Psalm 105:45

45 That they might keep his statutes
    and observe his teachings.(A)
Hallelujah!

Exodus 2:23-24

II. The Call and Commission of Moses

The Burning Bush. 23 A long time passed, during which the king of Egypt died. The Israelites groaned under their bondage and cried out, and from their bondage their cry for help went up to God.(A) 24 God heard their moaning and God was mindful of his covenant(B) with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

Ephesians 5:1-6

Chapter 5

So be imitators of God,[a] as beloved children,(A) and live in love, as Christ loved us and handed himself over for us as a sacrificial offering to God for a fragrant aroma.(B) Immorality or any impurity or greed must not even be mentioned among you, as is fitting among holy ones,(C) no obscenity or silly or suggestive talk, which is out of place, but instead, thanksgiving.(D) Be sure of this, that no immoral or impure or greedy person, that is, an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.(E)

Duty to Live in the Light. (F)Let no one deceive you with empty arguments, for because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the disobedient.[b]
