Psalm 116:1-2

Psalm 116

I love the Lord, because He has heard my voice
    and my supplications.
Because He has inclined His ear to me,
    therefore I will call upon Him as long as I live.

Psalm 116:12-19

12 What shall I render unto the Lord
    for all His benefits toward me?

13 I will take the cup of salvation
    and call upon the name of the Lord.
14 I will pay my vows unto the Lord
    now in the presence of all His people.

15 Precious in the sight of the Lord
    is the death of His godly ones.
16 O Lord, I am Your servant;
    I am Your servant, the son of Your female servant;
    You have loosed my bonds.

17 I will offer to You the sacrifice of thanksgiving
    and will call upon the name of the Lord.
18 I will pay my vows unto the Lord
    now in the presence of all His people,
19 in the courts of the house of the Lord,
    in your midst, O Jerusalem.

Praise the Lord!

Genesis 21:1-7

The Birth of Isaac

21 The Lord visited Sarah as He had said, and the Lord did for Sarah as He had spoken. For Sarah conceived and bore Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time that God had spoken to him. Abraham called the name of his son who was born to him, whom Sarah bore to him, Isaac. Then Abraham circumcised his son Isaac when he was eight days old, as God had commanded him. Now Abraham was one hundred years old when his son Isaac was born to him.

And Sarah said, “God has made me laugh. All who hear will laugh with me.” Also she said, “Who would have said to Abraham that Sarah would nurse children? Yet I have borne him a son in his old age.”

Hebrews 3:1-6

Jesus Superior to Moses

Therefore, holy brothers, partakers in a heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Jesus Christ, who was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as Moses was faithful in all His house. For the One was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, in that He who builds the house has more honor than the house itself. For every house is built by someone, but the One who builds all things is God. Moses was faithful in all God’s house as a servant, testifying about those things that were to be spoken later. But Christ is faithful over God’s house as a Son, whose house we are if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of our hope firm to the end.
