Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
99 1 He commendeth the power, equity, and excellency of the kingdom of God by Christ over the Jews and Gentiles, 5 And provoketh them to magnify the same, and to serve the Lord, 6 following the example of the ancient fathers, Moses, Aaron, Samuel, who calling upon God, were heard in their prayers.
1 The Lord reigneth, let the [a]people tremble: he sitteth between the (A)Cherubims, let the earth be moved.
2 The Lord is great in Zion, and he is high above all the people.
3 They shall [b]praise thy great and fearful Name (for it is holy.)
4 And the King’s power, that loveth judgment: for thou hast prepared equity: thou hast executed judgment and justice in Jacob.
5 Exalt the Lord our God, and fall down before his [c]footstool: for he is holy.
6 Moses and Aaron were among his Priests, [d]and Samuel among such as call upon his Name: these called upon the Lord, and he heard them.
7 He spake unto them in the cloudy pillar: they kept his testimonies, and the Law that he gave them.
8 Thou heardest them, O Lord our God: thou wast a favorable God unto them, though thou didst take vengeance for [e]their inventions.
9 Exalt the Lord our God and fall down before his holy Mountain: for the Lord our God is holy.
41 ¶ But on the morrow all the multitude of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron, saying, Ye have killed the people of the Lord.
42 And when the Congregation was gathered against Moses and against Aaron, then they [a]turned their faces toward the tabernacle of the Congregation: and behold, the cloud covered it, and the glory of the Lord appeared.
43 Then Moses and Aaron were come before the Tabernacle of the Congregation.
44 ¶ And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
45 Get you up from among this Congregation: for I will consume them quickly: then they fell upon their faces.
46 And Moses said unto Aaron, Take the censer and put fire therein of the [b]Altar, and put therein incense, and go quickly unto the Congregation, and make an atonement for them: for there is wrath gone out from the Lord: the plague is begun.
47 Then Aaron took as Moses commanded him, and ran into the midst of the Congregation, and behold, the [c]plague was begun among the people, and he put incense, and made an atonement for the people.
48 And when he stood between the dead, and them that were alive, the [d]plague was stayed.
49 So they died of this plague fourteen thousand and seven hundred, beside them that died in the conspiracy of Korah.
50 And Aaron went again unto Moses before the door of the Tabernacle of the Congregation, and the plague was stayed.
7 [a]Now the end of all things is at hand. Be ye therefore sober, and watching in prayer.
8 [b]But above all things have fervent love among you: (A)for love shall cover the multitude of sins.
9 [c]Be ye (B)harberous one to another, without grudging.
10 [d](C)Let every man as he hath received the gift, minister the same one to another, [e]as good disposers of the manifold grace of God.
11 [f]If any man speak, let him speak as the words of God. If any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God ministereth, that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom is praise and dominion forever, and ever, Amen.
