Acts 7:55-60

55 [a]But he being full of the holy Ghost, looked steadfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus [b]standing at the right hand of God,

56 And said, Behold, I see the heavens open, and the Son of man standing at the right hand of God.

57 [c]Then they gave a shout with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and [d]ran upon him violently all at once,

58 And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the [e]witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man’s feet, named Saul.

59 And they stoned Stephen, who called on God, and said, Lord Jesus receive my spirit.

60 [f]And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, [g]lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had thus spoken, he [h]slept.

Psalm 31:1-5

31 1 David delivered from some great danger, first rehearseth what meditation he had by the power of faith, when death was before his eyes, his enemy being ready to take him. 15 Then he affirmeth that the favor of God is always ready to those that fear him. 20 Finally he exhorteth all the faithful to trust in God and to love him, because he preserveth and strengtheneth them, as they may see by his example.

To him that excelleth. A Psalm of David.

In (A)thee, O Lord, have I put my trust: let me never be confounded: deliver me in thy [a]righteousness.

Bow down thine ear to me: make haste to deliver me: be unto me a strong rock, and an house of defense to save me.

For thou art my rock and my fortress: therefore for thy Name’s sake direct me and guide me.

Draw me out of the [b]net, that they have laid privily for me: for thou art my strength.

Into thine [c]hand I commend my spirit: for thou hast redeemed me, O Lord God of truth.

Psalm 31:15-16

15 My [a]times are in thine hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me.

16 Make thy face to shine upon thy servant: and save me through thy mercy.

1 Peter 2:2-10

[a]As [b]newborn babes desire that sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby,

[c]Because ye [d]have tasted that the Lord is bountiful.

[e]To whom coming as unto a living stone, disallowed of men, but chosen of God and precious,

Ye also as lively stones, be made a spiritual house, [f]an holy (A)Priesthood to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

[g]Wherefore also it is contained in the Scripture, (B)Behold, I put in Zion a chief cornerstone, elect and precious, and he that believeth therein, shall not be ashamed.

[h]Unto you therefore which believe, it is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the (C)stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,

And a (D)stone to stumble at, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient, unto the which thing they were even ordained.

[i]But ye are a chosen generation, a royal (E)Priesthood, an holy nation, a people set at liberty, that ye should show forth the virtues of him that hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light,

10 (F)Which in time past were not a people, yet are now the people of God: which in time past were not under mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

John 14:1-14

14 He comforteth his disciples, 2, 7 declaring his divinity and the fruit of his death, 16 promising the comforter, 17 even the holy Spirit, 26 whose office he setteth out. 27 He promiseth his peace.

Let [a]not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

In my Father’s house are many dwelling places: if it were not so, [b]I would have told you: I go to [c]prepare a place for you.

[d]And if I go to prepare a place for you, I will [e]come again, and receive you unto myself, that where I am, there may ye be also.

[f]And whither I go, ye know, and the way ye know.

Thomas said unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest: how can we then know the way?

Jesus said unto him, I am [g]that Way, and that Truth, and that Life. No man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

[h]If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

Philip said unto him, Lord, show us thy Father, and it sufficeth us.

Jesus said unto him, I have been so long time with you, and hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me, hath seen my Father: how then sayest thou, Show us thy Father?

10 [i]Believest thou not, that I am in the Father, and the Father is in me? The words that I speak unto you, I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

11 Believe me, that I am in the Father, and the Father is in me: at the least, believe me for the very works’ sake.

12 [j]Verily, verily I say unto you, he that believeth in me, the works that I do, he shall do also, and [k]greater than these shall he do: for I go unto my Father.

13 (A)And whatsoever ye ask in my Name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

14 If ye shall ask anything in my Name, I will do it.
