Psalm 116:1-4

116 1 David being in great danger of Saul in the desert of M[…], perceiving the great and inestimable love of God toward him, magnifieth such great mercies, 13 and protesteth that he will be thankful for the same.

I [a]love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my prayers.

For he hath inclined his ear unto me, when I did call upon him [b]in my days.

When the snares of death compassed me, and the griefs of the grave caught me: When I found trouble and sorrow.

Then I called upon the Name of the Lord, saying, I beseech thee, O Lord, deliver my soul.

Psalm 116:12-19

12 What shall I render unto the Lord for all his benefits toward me?

13 I will [a]take the cup of salvation, and call upon the Name of the Lord.

14 I will pay my vows unto the Lord, even now in the presence of all his people.

15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the [b]death of his Saints.

16 Behold, Lord: for I am thy servant, I am thy servant, and the son of thine handmaid: thou hast broken my bonds.

17 I will offer to thee a sacrifice of praise, and will call upon the Name of the Lord.

18 I will pay my [c]vows unto the Lord, even now in the presence of all his people,

19 In the courts of the Lord’s house, even in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Praise ye the Lord.

Isaiah 25:6-9

And in this [a]mountain shall the Lord of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things, even a feast of fined wines, and of fat things full of marrow, of wines fined and purified.

And he will destroy in this mountain [b]the covering that covereth all people, and the veil that is spread upon all nations.

He will destroy death forever: and the Lord God will [c]wipe away the tears from all faces, and the rebuke of his people will he take away out of all the earth: for the Lord hath spoken it.

And in that day shall men say, Lo, this is our God: we have waited for him, and he will save us. This is the Lord, we have waited for him, we will rejoice and be joyful in salvation.

Luke 14:12-14

12 [a]Then said he also to him that had bidden him, (A)When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor the rich neighbors, lest they also bid thee again, and a recompense be made thee.

13 But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame and the blind,

14 And thou shalt be blessed, because they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.
