Psalm 142

142 I cried to the LORD with my voice! With my voice I prayed to the LORD.

I poured out my meditation before Him, declared my affection in His presence.

Though my spirit was overwhelmed in me, You still knew my path. They have secretly laid a snare for me in the way wherein I walk.

I looked on my right hand and beheld, but there was no one who knew me. All refuge failed me. No one cared for my soul.

I cried to You, O LORD, and said, “You are my Hope, my portion in the land of the living.

“Listen to my cry, for I am brought very low. Deliver me from my persecutors, for they are too strong for me.

“Bring my soul out of prison, so that I may praise Your Name. The righteous shall surround me when You are beneficial to me.” A Psalm of David

Habakkuk 3:1-16

A prayer of Habakkuk the Prophet, for Shiggaion:

O LORD, I have heard Your voice, and was afraid! O LORD, revive Your work in the midst of the people! In the midst of the years make it known! In wrath remember mercy!

God comes from Teman, and the Holy One from Mount Paran. Selah. His Glory covers the heavens. And the Earth is full of His praise.

And His brightness was as the light. He had horns coming out of His Hands. His power was hidden there.

Before Him went the pestilence. And burning coals went forth before His feet.

He stood and measured the Earth. He beheld and dissolved the nations. And the everlasting mountains were broken, the ancient hills bowed. His ways are everlasting!

I saw the tents of Cushan in iniquity. The curtains of the land of Midian trembled!

Was the LORD displeased with the rivers? Or was Your anger against the rivers? Or was Your wrath against the sea, so that You rode upon Your horses? Your chariots brought salvation.

Your bow was manifestly revealed. The oaths of the tribes were a sure Word. Selah. You split the earth with rivers.

10 The mountains saw You, and they trembled! The stream of water passed. The deep made a noise and lifted up its hand on high.

11 The Sun and Moon stood still in their habitation. At the light of Your arrows they went, at the bright shining of Your spears.

12 You tread down the land in anger, threshed the heathen in displeasure.

13 You went forth for the salvation of Your people, for salvation with Your Anointed. You have wounded the head of the House of the wicked, and uncovered it, foundation to neck. Selah.

14 You struck through the heads of its villages with its own staffs: They came out as a whirlwind to scatter me. Their rejoicing was like devouring the poor secretly.

15 You walked in the sea with Your horses, upon the heap of great waters.

16 When I heard, my belly trembled. My lips shook at the voice. Rottenness entered into my bones. And I trembled in myself, so that I might rest in the time of trouble. When He comes up to the people, He shall destroy them.

Jude 5-21

Therefore, I will remind you (since you once knew this) how that the Lord - after He had delivered the people out of Egypt - destroyed those afterward who did not believe.

Also, the angels who did not keep their first estate - but left their own habitation - He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness until the judgment of the great Day;

as Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities around them which committed fornication and followed strange flesh in the same way they did are set forth as an example and suffer the vengeance of eternal fire.

Likewise also, these dreamers defile the flesh and despise government and speak evil of those who are in authority.

Yet Michael, the archangel, when he strove against the devil and disputed about the body of Moses, did not dare speak evil against him, but said, “The Lord rebuke you!”

10 But these speak evil of those things which they do not know. And whatever things they know naturally (as beasts which are without reason), in those things they corrupt themselves.

11 Woe to them! For they have followed the way of Cain and are cast away by the deceit of Balaam’s wages, and perish in the rebellion of Korah!

12 These are reefs in your feasts of charity; feasting with you, shamelessly feeding themselves. They are clouds without water, carried about by winds; corrupt trees without fruit, twice dead and plucked up by the roots.

13 They are the raging waves of the sea, foaming forth their own disgrace. They are wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever.

14 And Enoch also - the seventh from Adam - prophesied of such, saying, “Behold, the Lord comes with thousands of his saints

15 to give judgment against all, and to rebuke all the ungodly among them of all their wicked deeds which they have ungodly committed; and of all their cruel speech which wicked sinners have spoken against Him.”

16 These are murmurers, complainers (walking after their own lusts), whose mouths speak proud things; admiring others for the sake of advantage.

17 But you, beloved, remember the words which were spoken before by the Apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;

18 how that they told you that there would be mockers in the last time who would walk after their own ungodly lusts.

19 These are those who cause division from others; bestial, not having the Spirit.

20 But you, beloved, edify yourselves in your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost.

21 And keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, unto eternal life.
