Jeremiah 29:1

Jeremiah’s Letter to the Exiles

29 Now these are the words of the letter that Jeremiah the prophet sent from Jerusalem to the rest of the elders of the captivity, and the priests, and the prophets, and all the people whom Nebuchadnezzar had carried away captive from Jerusalem to Babylon.

Jeremiah 29:4-7

Thus says the Lord of Hosts, the God of Israel, to all who have been carried away captive whom I have caused to be carried away from Jerusalem to Babylon: Build houses and dwell in them; and plant gardens and eat their fruit. Take wives and beget sons and daughters; and take wives for your sons and give your daughters to husbands, so that they may bear sons and daughters; so that you may increase there and not diminish. Seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to the Lord for it; for in its peace you will have peace.

Psalm 66:1-12

Psalm 66

For the Music Director. A Song. A Psalm.

Shout joyfully to God, all you lands!
    Sing out the glory of His name;
    make His praise glorious.
Say to God, “How awesome are Your works!
    Through the greatness of Your power
    Your enemies cringe before You.
All the earth will worship You
    and will sing to You;
    they will sing to Your name.” Selah

Come and see the works of God;
    He is awesome in His doings toward mankind.
He turned the sea into dry land;
    they crossed the river on foot;
    there we rejoiced in Him.
He rules by His power forever;
    His eyes keep watch on the nations;
    do not let the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah

Oh, bless our God, you people,
    and make the voice of His praise to be heard,
who keeps our soul among the living,
    and does not allow our feet to slip.
10 For You, O God, have proved us;
    You have refined us, as silver is refined.
11 You brought us into the net;
    You placed distress on our backs.
12 You have allowed people to ride over our heads;
    we went through fire and through water;
    but You brought us out into a well-watered place.

2 Timothy 2:8-15

Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, descended from David, according to my gospel, in which I suffer trouble like a criminal, even with chains. But the word of God is not bound. 10 Therefore I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

11 This is a faithful saying:

If we die with Him,
    we shall also live with Him.
12 If we endure,
    we shall also reign with Him.
If we deny Him,
    He also will deny us.
13 If we are faithless,
    He remains faithful;
    He cannot deny Himself.

An Approved Workman

14 Remind them of these things, commanding them before the Lord that they not argue about words, which leads to nothing of value and to the destruction of those who hear them. 15 Study to show yourself approved by God, a workman who need not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Luke 17:11-19

The Cleansing of Ten Lepers

11 As Jesus went to Jerusalem, He passed between Samaria and Galilee. 12 As He entered a village, there met Him ten men who were lepers, who stood at a distance. 13 They lifted up their voices, saying, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!”

14 When He saw them, He said to them, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed.

15 One of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned with a loud voice glorifying God, 16 and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan.

17 Jesus said, “Were not the ten cleansed? Where are the nine? 18 Were there not any found to return and give glory to God except this foreigner?” 19 Then He said to him, “Rise, go your way. Your faith has made you well.”
