Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
80 Hear, O You Shepherd of Israel, You Who leads Joseph like sheep. Show Your brightness, You Who sits between the Cherubims.
2 Stir up Your strength before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh and come to help us.
8 You have brought a vine out of Egypt. You have cast out the heathen and planted it.
9 You made room for it, and caused it to take root, and it filled the land.
10 The mountains were covered with the shadow of it; and the boughs thereof were like the pleasant cedars.
11 She stretched out her branches to the sea, and her boughs to the river.
12 Why have You broken down her hedges, so that all those who pass by the way have plucked her?
13 The wild boar, out of the wood, has destroyed it; and the wild beasts of the field have eaten it up.
14 Return, we beg You, O God of Hosts! Look down from Heaven and behold, and visit this vine
15 and the vineyard that Your right hand has planted, and the young vine which You made strong for Yourself.
16 It is burnt with fire and cut down. They perish at the rebuke of Your countenance.
17 Let Your hand be upon the man of Your right hand, and upon the son of man whom You made strong for Your own self,
18 so we will not go back from You. Revive us, and we shall call upon Your Name.
19 Turn us again, O LORD God of Hosts! Cause Your face to shine, and we shall be saved. To him who excels upon Gittith: A Psalm committed to Asaph
18 “On that day, the LORD shall take away the beauty of the anklets and the headbands and the crescent ornaments
19 “the pendants and the bracelets and the veils
20 “the headdresses and the leg ornaments and the sashes and the tablets, and the earrings
21 “the rings and the nose jewels
22 “the costly apparel and the overtunics and the cloaks and the purses
23 “and the glasses and the fine linen and the turbans and the large veils.
24 “And instead of sweet savor, there shall be stink. And instead of a girdle, a rope. And instead of dressing the hair, baldness. And instead of a robe, a belt of sackcloth; and burning instead of beauty.
25 “Your men shall fall by the sword, and your strength in the battle.
26 “Then shall her gates mourn and lament. And she, being desolate, shall sit upon the ground.”
4 And on that day, seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, “We will eat our own bread and we will wear our own clothes. Only, let us be called by your name. Take away our reproach.”
2 On that day, the Branch of the LORD shall be beautiful and glorious. And the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and pleasant for those of Israel who have escaped.
3 Then he who shall be left in Zion, and he who shall remain in Jerusalem, shall be called holy. Everyone in Jerusalem shall be written among the living
4 when the LORD shall wash the filthiness of the daughters of Zion and purge the blood of Jerusalem out of its midst by the spirit of judgment and by the spirit of burning.
5 And the LORD shall create upon every place of Mount Zion, and upon its assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day and the shining of a flaming fire by night. For upon all the Glory shall be a defense.
6 And a covering shall be for shade from the heat during the day, and a place of refuge and a shelter from the storm and from the rain.
15 “Therefore, when you shall see the Abomination of Desolation (spoken of by Daniel the Prophet) set in the Holy Place (let the one who reads consider it.)
16 “Then let those who are in Judea, flee into the mountains.
17 “Let the one who is on the housetop, not come down to fetch anything out of his house.
18 “And the one who is in the field, let him not go back to fetch his clothes.
19 “Then woe to those who are with child, and to those who give suck in those days.
20 “But pray that your flight is not in the winter, nor on the Sabbath.
21 “For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not from the beginning of the world to this time, nor shall be.
22 “And unless those days are shortened, no flesh will be saved. But for the Elect’s sake, those days shall be shortened.
23 “Then, if anyone shall say to you, ‘Lo, here (or there) is Christ’, do not believe it.
24 “For there shall arise false christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders. So that if it were possible, they would deceive the very Elect.
25 “Behold, I have told you before.
26 “Therefore, if they shall say to you, ‘Behold, He is in the desert’, do not go. ‘Behold, He is in the secret places’, do not believe it.
27 “For as the lightning comes out of the east, and is seen in the west, so also shall the coming of the Son of Man be.
