Psalm 60

60 O God, You have cast us out. You have scattered us. You have been angry. Turn again to us.

You have made the land tremble and have made it gape. Heal the breaches thereof, for it is shaken.

You have shown Your people heavy things. You have made us drink the wine of giddiness.

You have given a banner to those who fear You, so that it may be displayed, because of Your truth. Selah.

So that Your beloved may be delivered, help with Your right hand and hear me.

God has spoken in His holiness, “I will rejoice. I shall divide Shechem and measure the valley of Succoth.

“Gilead shall be Mine, and Manasseh shall be Mine. Ephraim also shall be the strength of My head. Judah is My lawgiver.

“Moab shall be My washpot. I will cast out My shoe over Edom. Philistia show yourself joyful for Me.”

Who will lead me into the strong city? Who will bring me to Edom?

10 Will not you, O God, Who has cast us off; Who did not go forth, O God, with our armies?

11 Give us help against trouble. For vain is the help of man.

12 Through God we shall do valiantly; for He shall tread down our enemies. To him who excels on Neginoth: A Psalm of David

Hosea 13

13 When Ephraim spoke, there was trembling. He exalted himself in Israel. But he has sinned in Baal and is dead.

And now they sin more and more, and have made themselves molten images of their silver, idols according to their own understanding. They were all the work of the craftsmen. They say one to another while they sacrifice a man, “Let them kiss the calves.”

Therefore, they shall be as the morning cloud and as the morning dew that passes away, as the chaff that is driven with a whirlwind out of the floor and as the smoke that goes out of the chimney.

“Yet I am the LORD your God, from the land of Egypt. And you shall know no God but Me. For there is no Savior beside Me.

“I knew you in the wilderness, in the land of drought.

“As in their pastures, were they filled. They were filled and their hearts were exalted. Therefore, they have forgotten Me.

“And I will be to them as a lion, as a leopard on the way of Assyria.

“I will meet them as a bear that is robbed of her whelps. And I will tear open their chests. And there will I devour them like a lion. The wild beasts shall tear them.

“O Israel, one has destroyed you! But in Me is your help.

10 “I will be your King. Where is your king who would help you in all your cities, and your judges of whom you said, ‘Give me a king and princes’?

11 “I gave you a king in My anger. And I took him away in My wrath.

12 “The iniquity of Ephraim is bound up. His sin is hidden.

13 “The sorrows of a woman in labor shall come upon him. He is an unwise son, or else he would not stand still at the time of the breaking forth of the children.

14 “I will redeem them from the power of the grave. I will deliver them from death. O death, I will be your death! O grave, I will be your destruction! Sorrow shall be hidden from My Eyes.”

15 Though he grew up among his brethren, an East wind shall come. The wind of the LORD shall come up from the wilderness and dry up his vein. And his fountain shall be dried up. He shall plunder the treasure of all pleasant vessels.

Colossians 4:2-6

Be steadfast in prayer, watching with thanksgiving;

praying also for us that God may open a door of utterance to us to speak the mystery of Christ (because of which I am also in bonds);

that I should make it clear as it behooves me to speak.

Walk wisely toward those who are outside, rescuing lost time.

Let your speech always be gracious, having been seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer each one.
