82 God stands in the assembly of gods. He judges among gods.

² How long will you judge unjustly and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah.

³ Do right to the poor and fatherless. Do justice to the poor and needy.

⁴ Deliver the poor and needy. Save them from the hand of the wicked.

⁵ They do not know, and understand nothing. They walk in darkness. All the foundations of the Earth are moved.

⁶ I have said, “You are gods. And you all are children of the Most High.

⁷ “But you shall die as a man. And you, Princes, shall fall like others.”

⁸ O God, arise! Judge the Earth! For You shall inherit all nations. A song, or Psalm, committed to Asaph

¹² ‘But you gave the Nazirites wine to drink, and commanded the Prophets, saying, “Do not Prophesy.”

¹³ ‘Behold, I am pressed under you as a cart is pressed that is full of sheaves.

¹⁴ ‘Therefore, the flight shall perish from the swift. And the strong shall not strengthen his force. Nor shall the mighty save his life;

¹⁵ ‘nor shall he who handles the bow stand. And he who is swift of foot shall not escape. Nor shall he who rides the horse save his life.

¹⁶ ‘And he who is of a mighty courage among the strong men shall flee away naked on that day,’ says the LORD.”

3 Hear this Word that the LORD pronounces against you, O children of Israel; against the whole family which I brought up from the land of Egypt, saying,

² “You only have I known of all the families of the Earth. Therefore, I will punish you for all your iniquities.

³ “Can two walk together unless they are agreed?

⁴ “Will a lion roar in the forest when he has no prey? Or will a young lion cry out of his den if he has captured nothing?

⁵ “Can a bird fall into a snare upon the Earth if there is no lure? Or will a snare spring up from the Earth, having caught nothing at all?

⁶ “Or, shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? Or shall there be evil in a city and the LORD has not done it?”

⁷ Surely the LORD God will do nothing unless He reveals His secret to His servants, the Prophets.

⁸ The lion has roared! Who will not be afraid? The LORD God has spoken! Who can but prophesy?

¹⁶ “For God so loves the world, that He has given His only begotten Son; that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

¹⁷ “For God did not send his Son into the world that He should condemn the world, but that the world, through Him, might be saved.

¹⁸ “The one who believes in Him is not condemned. But the one who does not believe, is condemned already, because he has not believed in the Name of the only begotten Son of God.

¹⁹ “And this is the judgment: that the Light came into the world, and man loved darkness rather than the Light, because their deeds were evil.

²⁰ “For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light, lest his deeds should be exposed.

²¹ “But the one who practices truth comes to the Light, that his works done according to God might be made visible.”
