Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
8 Doth not wisdom cry out, and understanding put forth her voice?
2 She standeth at the top of high places, by the wayside where the paths meet.
3 She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors:
4 “Unto you, O men, I call, and my voice is to the sons of man.
22 “The Lord possessed me at the beginning of His way, before His works of old.
23 I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.
24 When there were no depths I was brought forth, when there were no fountains abounding with water.
25 Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth,
26 while as yet He had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the first parts of dust of the world.
27 When He prepared the heavens, I was there; when He set a compass upon the face of the deep,
28 when He established the clouds above, when He strengthened the fountains of the deep,
29 when He gave to the sea His decree that the waters should not pass His commandment, when He appointed the foundations of the earth”
30 then I was by Him, as one brought up with Him, and I was daily His delight, rejoicing always before Him,
31 rejoicing in the habitable part of His earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.
8 O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is Thy name in all the earth, who hast set Thy glory above the heavens!
2 Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast Thou ordained strength because of Thine enemies, that Thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.
3 When I consider Thy heavens, the work of Thy fingers, the moon and the stars which Thou hast ordained,
4 what is man that Thou art mindful of him, and the son of man that Thou dost visit him?
5 For Thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honor.
6 Thou hast made him to have dominion over the works of Thy hands; Thou hast put all things under his feet,
7 all sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field,
8 the fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.
9 O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is Thy name in all the earth!
5 Therefore, being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
2 by whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also, knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
4 and patience, experience; and experience, hope;
5 and hope maketh not ashamed, because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost who is given unto us.
12 “I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.
13 However when He, the Spirit of Truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth; for He shall not speak from Himself, but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak; and He will show you things to come.
14 He shall glorify Me, for He shall receive of Mine, and shall show it unto you.
15 All things that the Father hath are Mine; therefore I said that He shall take of Mine, and shall show it unto you.
