Version
Psalm 63:1-8

(A)Longing for God[a]

63 O God, you are my God,
    and I long for you.
My whole being desires you;
    like a dry, worn-out, and waterless land,
    my soul is thirsty for you.
Let me see you in the sanctuary;
    let me see how mighty and glorious you are.
Your constant love is better than life itself,
    and so I will praise you.
I will give you thanks as long as I live;
    I will raise my hands to you in prayer.
My soul will feast and be satisfied,
    and I will sing glad songs of praise to you.

As I lie in bed, I remember you;
    all night long I think of you,
    because you have always been my help.
In the shadow of your wings I sing for joy.
I cling to you,
    and your hand keeps me safe.

Daniel 12:1-4

The Time of the End

12 (A)The angel wearing linen clothes said, “At that time the great angel Michael, who guards your people, will appear. Then there will be a time of troubles, the worst since nations first came into existence. When that time comes, all the people of your nation whose names are written in God's book will be saved. (B)Many of those who have already died will live again: some will enjoy eternal life, and some will suffer eternal disgrace. [a]The wise leaders will shine with all the brightness of the sky. And those who have taught many people to do what is right will shine like the stars forever.”

(C)He said to me, “And now, Daniel, close the book and put a seal on it until the end of the world. Meanwhile, many people will waste their efforts trying to understand what is happening.”

Revelation 3:1-6

The Message to Sardis

“To the angel of the church in Sardis write:

“This is the message from the one who has the seven spirits of God and the seven stars. I know what you are doing; I know that you have the reputation of being alive, even though you are dead! So wake up, and strengthen what you still have before it dies completely. For I find that what you have done is not yet perfect in the sight of my God. (A)Remember, then, what you were taught and what you heard; obey it and turn from your sins. If you do not wake up, I will come upon you like a thief, and you will not even know the time when I will come. But a few of you there in Sardis have kept your clothes clean. You will walk with me, clothed in white, because you are worthy to do so. (B)Those who win the victory will be clothed like this in white, and I will not remove their names from the book of the living. In the presence of my Father and of his angels I will declare openly that they belong to me.

“If you have ears, then, listen to what the Spirit says to the churches!
