Psalm 99

The Lord Is Good to His People

99 The Lord rules! Let the people shake in fear! He sits on His throne above the angels. Let the earth shake! The Lord is great in Zion. And He is honored above all people. Let them praise Your great name. It is to be honored with fear. He is holy!

The strength of the King loves what is right. You have set up what is fair. You do what is right and fair in Jacob. Honor the Lord our God. Worship at His feet. For He is holy!

Moses and Aaron were among His religious leaders. And Samuel was among those who called on His name. They called upon the Lord, and He answered them. He spoke to them from the cloud. They kept His Word and the Law that He gave them. O Lord our God, You answered them. You were a forgiving God to them. But You punished them for their wrong-doing. Honor the Lord our God. And worship at His holy mountain. For the Lord our God is holy!

Deuteronomy 9:15-24

15 So I turned and came down from the mountain while the mountain was burning with fire. The two pieces of stone of the agreement were in my two hands. 16 And I saw that it was true that you had sinned against the Lord your God. You had made for yourselves a calf out of gold. You had been quick to turn away from what the Lord had told you. 17 So I took the two pieces of stone and threw them from my hands, and broke them in front of your eyes. 18 Then again I fell down before the Lord for forty days and nights. I did not eat bread or drink water, because of all the sin you had done. You did what was sinful in the eyes of the Lord and made Him angry. 19 I was afraid of the anger of the Lord which was burning against you to destroy you. But the Lord listened to me again. 20 The Lord was angry enough with Aaron to destroy him. So I prayed for Aaron at the same time also. 21 Then I took your sinful thing, the calf you had made, and burned it with fire and crushed it. I ground it into pieces until it was as fine as dust. And I threw its dust into the river that flowed down from the mountain.

22 “You made the Lord angry again at Taberah, Massah and Kibroth-hattaavah. 23 The Lord sent you from Kadesh-barnea, saying, ‘Go and take for your own the land I have given you.’ But you went against what the Lord your God told you to do. You did not believe Him or listen to His voice. 24 You have gone against the Lord from the day I first knew you.

Luke 10:21-24

The Joy of the Holy Spirit

21 At this time Jesus was full of the joy of the Holy Spirit. He said, “I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth. You have kept these things hidden from the wise and from those who have much learning. You have shown them to little children. Yes, Father, it was what you wanted done.

22 “Everything has been given to Me by My Father. No one knows the Son but the Father. No one knows the Father but the Son and the Son makes the Father known to those He chooses.”

23 Then He turned to His followers and said without anyone else hearing, “Happy are those who see what you see! 24 I tell you, many early preachers and kings have wanted to see the things you are seeing, but they did not see them. They have wanted to hear the things you are hearing, but they did not hear them.”
