Version
Psalm 71:1-6

¶ In thee, O LORD, have I waited; let me not be forever put to shame.

Deliver me in thy righteousness and cause me to escape; incline thine ear unto me and save me.

Be thou my strong habitation unto which I may continually resort; thou hast given a commandment that I should be saved because thou art my rock and my fortress.

Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the perverse and violent man.

For thou art my hope, O Lord GOD; thou art my security from my youth.

By thee have I been sustained from the womb; thou art he that took me out of my mother’s bowels; my praise has been continually of thee.

2 Chronicles 35:20-27

20 ¶ After all this, when Josiah had prepared the house, Necho, king of Egypt, came up to fight against Carchemish by Euphrates; and Josiah went out against him.

21 But he sent ambassadors to him, saying, What have I to do with thee, thou king of Judah? I do not come against thee this day, but against the house that makes war with me, for God commanded me to make haste. Forbear from meddling with God, who is with me, that he not destroy thee.

22 Nevertheless, Josiah would not turn his face from him, but disguised himself, that he might fight with him, and did not hearken unto the words of Necho from the mouth of God, and came to fight him in the valley of Megiddo.

23 And the archers shot King Josiah, and the king said to his slaves, Take me away, for I am sore wounded.

24 His slaves, therefore, took him out of that chariot and put him in the second chariot that he had; and they brought him to Jerusalem, and he died and was buried in the sepulchres of his fathers. And all Judah and Jerusalem mourned for Josiah.

25 And Jeremiah lamented for Josiah; and all the singing men and the singing women spoke of Josiah in their lamentations to this day and made them an ordinance in Israel, which are written in the lamentations.

26 Now the rest of the acts of Josiah and his mercy, according to that which was written in the law of the LORD,

27 and his deeds, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah.

Acts 19:1-10

19 ¶ And it came to pass that while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul, having passed through the upper coasts, came to Ephesus, and finding certain disciples,

he said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Spirit since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there is any Holy Spirit.

And he said unto them, Into what then were ye baptized? And they said, Into John’s baptism.

Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people that they should believe on him who should come after him, that is, on Christ, Jesus.

When they heard this, they were baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus.

And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied.

And all the men were about twelve.

¶ And he went into the synagogue and spoke freely for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God.

But when some were hardened and disobedient, but cursing the way before the multitude, he departed from them and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus.

10 And this continued by the space of two years so that all those who dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks.
