⁵ Thy mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens, and Thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds.

⁶ Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; Thy judgments are a great deep; O Lord, Thou preservest man and beast.

⁷ How excellent is Thy lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Thy wings.

⁸ They shall be abundantly satisfied with the bounty of Thy house, and Thou shalt make them drink of the river of Thy pleasures.

⁹ For with Thee is the fountain of life; in Thy light shall we see light.

¹⁰ O continue Thy lovingkindness unto them that know Thee, and Thy righteousness to the upright in heart.

3 “They say, ‘If a man put away his wife, and she go from him and become another man’s, shall he return unto her again? Shall not that land be greatly polluted?’ But thou hast played the harlot with many lovers; yet return again to Me,” saith the Lord.

² “Lift up thine eyes unto the high places, and see where hast thou not been lain with. By the wayside hast thou sat for them, as the Arabian in the wilderness; and thou hast polluted the land with thy whoredoms and with thy wickedness.

³ Therefore the showers have been withheld, and there hath been no latter rain. And thou had a whore’s forehead; thou refused to be ashamed.

⁴ Wilt thou not from this time cry unto Me, ‘My Father, Thou art the guide of my youth?

⁵ Will He reserve His anger for ever? Will He keep it to the end?’ Behold, thou hast spoken, and done evil things as thou couldest.”

¹⁸ And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money,

¹⁹ saying, “Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost.”

²⁰ But Peter said unto him, “Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money!

²¹ Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter, for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.

²² Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God that perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.

²³ For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness and in the bond of iniquity.”

²⁴ Then Simon answered and said, “Pray ye to the Lord for me, that none of these things which ye have spoken come upon me.”
