113 Praise ye the Lord! Praise, O ye servants of the Lord; praise the name of the Lord!

² Blessed be the name of the Lord from this time forth and for evermore.

³ From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same, the Lord’S name is to be praised.

⁴ The Lord is high above all nations, and His glory above the heavens.

⁵ Who is like unto the Lord our God who dwelleth on high,

⁶ who humbleth Himself to behold the things that are in heaven and on the earth?

⁷ He raiseth up the poor out of the dust and lifteth the needy out of the dunghill,

⁸ that He may set him with princes, even with the princes of His people.

⁹ He maketh the barren woman to keep house, and to be a joyful mother of children. Praise ye the Lord!

¹⁹ And these are the generations of Isaac, Abraham’s son. Abraham begot Isaac.

²⁰ And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah for a wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padanaram, the sister of Laban the Syrian.

²¹ And Isaac entreated the Lord for his wife, because she was barren; and the Lord was entreated by him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.

²² And the children struggled together within her; and she said, “If it be so, why am I thus?” And she went to inquire of the Lord.

²³ And the Lord said unto her, “Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy body; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people, and the elder shall serve the younger.”

²⁴ And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb.

²⁵ And the first came out red, all over like a hairy garment; and they called his name Esau.

²⁶ And after that came his brother out, and his hand took hold of Esau’s heel; and his name was called Jacob. And Isaac was threescore years old when she bore them.

²⁷ And the boys grew. And Esau was a cunning hunter, a man of the field; and Jacob was a plain man, dwelling in tents.

²⁸ And Isaac loved Esau, because he ate of his venison; but Rebekah loved Jacob.

¹⁵ He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature.

¹⁶ For by Him were all things created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones or dominions or principalities or powers: all things were created by Him and for Him.

¹⁷ And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist.

¹⁸ And He is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He might have the preeminence.

¹⁹ For it pleased the Father that in Him should all fullness dwell,

²⁰ and having made peace through the blood of His cross, by Him to reconcile all things unto Himself — by Him, I say, whether they be things on earth or things in heaven.
