Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
23 Now these are the last words of David. David the son of Jesse, the man who was raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said:
2 “The Spirit of the Lord spoke by me, and His word was on my tongue.
3 The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spoke to me: ‘He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.
4 And he shall be as the light of the morning when the sun riseth, even a morning without clouds, as the tender grass springing out of the earth by clear shining after rain.’
5 “Although my house be not so with God, yet He hath made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things and sure; for this is all my salvation and all my desire, although He make it not to grow.
6 But the sons of Belial shall be all of them as thorns thrust away, because they cannot be taken with hands;
7 but the man that shall touch them must be armed with iron and the staff of a spear; and they shall be utterly burned with fire in the same place.”
132 Lord, remember David and all his afflictions—
2 how he swore unto the Lord and vowed unto the Mighty God of Jacob:
3 “Surely I will not come into the tabernacle of my house, nor go up into my bed;
4 I will not give sleep to mine eyes or slumber to mine eyelids
5 until I find out a place for the Lord, a habitation for the Mighty God of Jacob.”
6 Lo, we heard of it at Ephrathah; we found it in the fields of the wood:
7 “We will go into His tabernacles; we will worship at His footstool.”
8 Arise, O Lord, into Thy rest, Thou and the ark of Thy strength.
9 Let Thy priests be clothed with righteousness, and let Thy saints shout for joy.
10 For Thy servant David’s sake, turn not away the face of Thine anointed.
11 The Lord hath sworn in truth unto David; He will not turn from it: “Of the fruit of thy body I will set upon thy throne.
12 If thy children will keep My covenant and My testimony that I shall teach them, their children shall also sit upon thy throne for evermore.”
13 For the Lord hath chosen Zion; He hath desired it for His habitation:
14 “This is My rest for ever; here will I dwell, for I have desired it.
15 I will abundantly bless her provision, I will satisfy her poor with bread.
16 I will also clothe her priests with salvation, and her saints shall shout aloud for joy.
17 There will I make the horn of David to bud; I have ordained a lamp for Mine anointed.
18 His enemies will I clothe with shame, but upon himself shall his crown flourish.”
4 John, To the seven churches in Asia: Grace be unto you and peace from Him who is, and who was, and who is to come, and from the seven spirits which are before His throne;
5 and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first-begotten of the dead, and the prince over the kings of the earth. Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood,
6 and hath made us kings and priests unto God and His Father, to Him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
7 Behold, He cometh with clouds, and every eye shall see Him, and they also who pierced Him; and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of Him. Even so. Amen.
8 “I Am Alpha And Omega, The Beginning And The Ending,” saith the Lord, who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.
33 Then Pilate entered into the judgment hall again, and called Jesus and said unto Him, “Art thou the King of the Jews?”
34 Jesus answered him, “Sayest thou this thing of thyself, or did others tell it thee of Me?”
35 Pilate answered, “Am I a Jew? Thine own nation and the chief priests have delivered thee unto me. What hast thou done?”
36 Jesus answered, “My Kingdom is not of this world. If My Kingdom were of this world, then would My servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews. But now is My Kingdom not from hence.”
37 Pilate therefore said unto Him, “Art thou a king then?” Jesus answered, “Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth My voice.”
