Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
Save Me, O My God
A Psalm of David, (A)when he fled from Absalom his son.
3 O Lord, (B)how many are my foes!
Many are (C)rising against me;
2 many are saying of my soul,
(D)“There is no salvation for him in God.” Selah[a]
3 But you, O Lord, are (E)a shield (F)about me,
my glory, and (G)the lifter of my head.
4 I (H)cried aloud to the Lord,
and he (I)answered me from his (J)holy hill. Selah
5 I (K)lay down and slept;
I woke again, for the Lord sustained me.
6 I (L)will not be afraid of many thousands of people
who have (M)set themselves against me all around.
7 (N)Arise, O Lord!
Save me, O my God!
For you (O)strike all my enemies on the cheek;
you (P)break the teeth of the wicked.
8 (Q)Salvation belongs to the Lord;
your blessing be on your people! Selah
Solomon's Prayer of Dedication
22 Then Solomon (A)stood before the altar of the Lord in the presence of all the assembly of Israel and (B)spread out his hands toward heaven, 23 and said, “O Lord, God of Israel, (C)there is no God like you, in heaven above or on earth beneath, (D)keeping covenant and showing steadfast love to your servants who walk before you with all their heart; 24 you have kept with your servant David my father what you declared to him. (E)You spoke with your mouth, and with your hand have fulfilled it this day. 25 Now therefore, O Lord, God of Israel, keep for your servant David my father what you have promised him, saying, (F)‘You shall not lack a man to sit before me on the throne of Israel, if only your sons pay close attention to their way, to walk before me as you have walked before me.’ 26 (G)Now therefore, O God of Israel, let your word be confirmed, which you have spoken to your servant David my father.
27 “But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, (H)heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain you; how much less this house that I have built! 28 Yet have regard to the prayer of your servant and to his plea, O Lord my God, listening to the cry and to the prayer that your servant prays before you this day, 29 (I)that your eyes may be open night and day toward this house, the place of which you have said, (J)‘My name shall be there,’ that you may listen to the prayer that your servant offers toward this place. 30 And listen to the plea of your servant and of your people Israel, when they pray toward this place. And listen in heaven your dwelling place, and when you hear, forgive.
9 (A)“But (B)be on your guard. For they will deliver you over to councils, and you will be beaten (C)in synagogues, and you will stand before (D)governors and (E)kings for my sake, (F)to bear witness before them. 10 And the gospel must first be proclaimed (G)to all nations. 11 And when they bring you to trial and deliver you over, (H)do not be anxious beforehand what you are to say, but say (I)whatever is given you in that hour, (J)for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit. 12 (K)And brother will deliver brother over to death, and the father his child, and children will rise against parents and have them put to death. 13 (L)And you will be hated by all for my name's sake. (M)But the one who endures to the end will be saved.
The Abomination of Desolation
14 “But when you see (N)the abomination of desolation standing where he ought not to be ((O)let the reader understand), then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 15 (P)Let the one who is on (Q)the housetop not go down, nor enter his house, to take anything out, 16 and let the one who is in the field not turn back to take his cloak. 17 And (R)alas for women who are pregnant and for those who are nursing infants in those days! 18 Pray that it may not happen in winter. 19 For in those days there will be (S)such (T)tribulation as has not been (U)from the beginning of the creation that (V)God created until now, and never will be. 20 And if the Lord had not cut short the days, no human being would be saved. But for (W)the sake of the elect, whom (X)he chose, he shortened the days. 21 And (Y)then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘Look, there he is!’ do not believe it. 22 (Z)For false christs and false prophets will arise and (AA)perform signs and wonders, (AB)to lead astray, if possible, (AC)the elect. 23 But (AD)be on guard; (AE)I have told you all things beforehand.
