Morning Prayer of Trust

O Lord, how many are they who hate me! How many rise up against me! Many are saying of me, “There is no help for him in God.” But You, O Lord, are a covering around me, my shining-greatness, and the One Who lifts my head. I was crying to the Lord with my voice. And He answered me from His holy mountain. I lay down and slept, and I woke up again, for the Lord keeps me safe.

I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people who stand all around against me. Rise up, O Lord! Save me, O my God! For You have hit on the face all those who hate me, and you have broken the teeth of the sinful. It is You Who saves, O Lord. May You bring happiness to Your people.

Deuteronomy 26:5-10

And you will say before the Lord your God, ‘My father was a traveling Aramean. He went to Egypt, few in number, and stayed there. But there he became a nation, great, powerful, and with many people. The Egyptians made it hard for us. They brought us much trouble and made us work very hard. Then we cried to the Lord, the God of our fathers. The Lord heard our voice and saw our troubles, our work, and how hard our lives were. And the Lord brought us out of Egypt with a strong hand and a long arm, causing much fear by doing powerful works. He has brought us to this place. He has given us this land, a land flowing with milk and honey. 10 Now see, I have brought the first of the fruit of the ground that You have given me, O Lord.’ Then you will set it down before the Lord your God, and worship Him.

Hebrews 10:32-39

32 Remember how it was in those days after you heard the truth. You suffered much. 33 People laughed at you and beat you. When others suffered, you suffered with them. 34 You had loving-pity for those who were in prison. You had joy when your things were taken away from you. For you knew you would have something better in heaven which would last forever.

35 Do not throw away your trust, for your reward will be great. 36 You must be willing to wait without giving up. After you have done what God wants you to do, God will give you what He promised you. 37 The Holy Writings say, “In a little while, the One you are looking for will come. It will not be a long time now. 38 For the one right with God lives by faith. If anyone turns back, I will not be pleased with him.” (A) 39 We are not of those people who turn back and are lost. Instead, we have faith to be saved from the punishment of sin.
