Ruth 3:1-5

Boaz Will Redeem Ruth

Then Naomi her mother-in-law said to her, “My daughter, shall I not seek [a]security for you, that it may be well with you? Now is not Boaz (A)our [b]kinsman, with whose maids you were? Behold, he winnows barley at the threshing floor tonight. Wash yourself therefore, and anoint yourself and put on your best clothes, and go down to the threshing floor; but do not make yourself known to the man until he has finished eating and drinking. It shall be when he lies down, that you shall [c]notice the place where he lies, and you shall go and uncover his feet and lie down; then he will tell you what you shall do.” She said to her, “(B)All that you say I will do.”

Ruth 4:13-17

13 So Boaz took Ruth, and she became his wife, and he went in to her. And (A)the Lord [a]enabled her to conceive, and she gave birth to a son. 14 Then the (B)women said to Naomi, “Blessed is the Lord who has not left you without a [b]redeemer today, and may his name [c]become famous in Israel. 15 May he also be to you a restorer of life and a sustainer of your old age; for your daughter-in-law, who loves you [d](C)and is better to you than seven sons, has given birth to him.”

The Line of David Began Here

16 Then Naomi took the child [e]and laid him in her lap, and became his nurse. 17 The neighbor women gave him a name, saying, “A son has been born to Naomi!” So they named him Obed. He is the father of Jesse, the father of David.

Psalm 127

Prosperity Comes from the Lord.

A Song of Ascents, of Solomon.

127 Unless the Lord (A)builds the house,
They labor in vain who build it;
Unless the Lord (B)guards the city,
The watchman keeps awake in vain.
It is vain for you to rise up early,
To [a]retire late,
To (C)eat the bread of [b]painful labors;
For He gives to His (D)beloved (E)even in his sleep.

Behold, (F)children are a [c]gift of the Lord,
The (G)fruit of the womb is a reward.
Like arrows in the hand of a (H)warrior,
So are the children of one’s youth.
How (I)blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them;
(J)They will not be ashamed
When they (K)speak with their enemies (L)in the gate.

Hebrews 9:24-28

24 For Christ (A)did not enter a holy place made with hands, a mere copy of (B)the true one, but into (C)heaven itself, now (D)to appear in the presence of God for us; 25 nor was it that He would offer Himself often, as (E)the high priest enters (F)the holy place (G)year by year with blood that is not his own. 26 Otherwise, He would have needed to suffer often since (H)the foundation of the world; but now (I)once at (J)the consummation of the ages He has been (K)manifested to put away sin [a](L)by the sacrifice of Himself. 27 And inasmuch as (M)it is [b]appointed for men to die once and after this (N)comes judgment, 28 so Christ also, having been (O)offered once to (P)bear the sins of many, will appear (Q)a second time for (R)salvation (S)without reference to sin, to those who (T)eagerly await Him.

Mark 12:38-44

38 (A)In His teaching He was saying: “Beware of the scribes who like to walk around in long robes, and like (B)respectful greetings in the market places, 39 and chief seats in the synagogues and places of honor at banquets, 40 (C)who devour widows’ houses, and for appearance’s sake offer long prayers; these will receive greater condemnation.”

The Widow’s Mite

41 (D)And He sat down opposite (E)the treasury, and began observing how the people were (F)putting [a]money into the treasury; and many rich people were putting in large sums. 42 A poor widow came and put in two [b]small copper coins, which amount to a [c]cent. 43 Calling His disciples to Him, He said to them, “Truly I say to you, this poor widow put in more than all [d]the contributors to the treasury; 44 for they all put in out of their [e]surplus, but she, out of her poverty, put in all she owned, [f]all she had (G)to live on.”
