Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
20 The Lord rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands hath He recompensed me.
21 For I have kept the ways of the Lord, and have not wickedly departed from my God.
22 For all His judgments were before me, and I did not put away His statutes from me.
23 I was also upright before Him, and I kept myself from mine iniquity.
24 Therefore hath the Lord recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in His eyes.
25 With the merciful Thou wilt show Thyself merciful; with an upright man Thou wilt show Thyself upright;
26 with the pure Thou wilt show Thyself pure; and with the froward Thou wilt show Thyself froward.
27 For Thou wilt save the afflicted people, but wilt bring down haughty looks.
28 For Thou wilt light my candle; the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness.
29 For by Thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall.
30 As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the Lord is proved; He is a buckler to all those that trust in Him.
8 And it came to pass at midnight that the man was afraid, and turned himself; and behold, a woman lay at his feet.
9 And he said, “Who art thou?” And she answered, “I am Ruth, thine handmaid. Spread therefore thy skirt over thine handmaid, for thou art a near kinsman.”
10 And he said, “Blessed be thou of the Lord, my daughter; for thou hast shown more kindness in the latter end than at the beginning, inasmuch as thou followed not young men, whether poor or rich.
11 And now, my daughter, fear not. I will do for thee all that thou requirest, for all the city of my people doth know that thou art a virtuous woman.
12 And now it is true that I am thy near kinsman; however that be, there is a kinsman nearer than I.
13 Tarry this night, and it shall be in the morning, that if he will perform unto thee the part of a kinsman, well. Let him do the kinsman’s part. But if he will not do the part of a kinsman for thee, then will I do the part of a kinsman for thee, as the Lord liveth. Lie down until the morning.”
14 And she lay at his feet until the morning; and she rose up before one could know another. And he said, “Let it not be known that a woman came unto the floor.”
15 Also he said, “Bring the veil that thou hast upon thee and hold it.” And when she held it, he measured six measures of barley, and laid it on her; and she went into the city.
16 And when she came to her mother-in-law, she said, “Who art thou, my daughter?” And she told her all that the man had done to her.
17 And she said, “These six measures of barley gave he me; for he said to me, ‘Go not empty unto thy mother-in-law.’”
18 Then said she, “Sit still, my daughter, until thou know how the matter will fall; for the man will not be in rest until he hath finished the thing this day.”
31 Therefore when he had gone out, Jesus said, “Now is the Son of Man glorified, and God is glorified in Him.
32 If God be glorified in Him, God shall also glorify Him in Himself, and shall straightway glorify Him.
33 Little children, yet a little while I am with you. Ye shall seek Me; and as I said unto the Jews, ‘Whither I go ye cannot come,’ so now say I to you.
34 A new commandment I give unto you: that ye love one another, as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
35 By this shall all men know that ye are My disciples: if ye have love one for another.”
