Version
Psalm 18:20-30

20 Yahweh has rewarded me according to my righteousness;
According to the cleanness of my hands
he has repaid me.
21 Because I have kept the ways of Yahweh,
and have not acted wickedly against my God,
22 because all his ordinances are before me,
and his statutes I have not removed from me,
23 and I was blameless before him,
and I kept myself from my guilt.
24 Therefore Yahweh has repaid me according to my righteousness,
according to the cleanness of my hands in his sight.
25 To the loyal you show yourself loyal.
To the blameless you show yourself blameless.
26 To the pure you show yourself pure.
but to the wicked you show yourself shrewd.
27 For you deliver humble people,
but haughty eyes you humiliate.
28 For you light my lamp;
Yahweh, my God, lights up my darkness.
29 For with you I can charge a troop,
and with my God I can scale a wall.
30 This[a] God—his way is blameless.
The word of Yahweh is flawless.[b]
He is a shield for all those who take refuge in him.

Ruth 3:1-7

Ruth Meets Boaz at the Threshing Floor

Now Naomi her mother-in-law said to her, “My daughter, should I not seek for you security that things may be good for you? So then, is not Boaz our kinsman whose maidservants you were with? Look, he is winnowing the barley at the threshing floor tonight. Wash, anoint yourself, put your clothing on, and go down to the threshing floor. Do not make yourself known to the man until he finishes eating and drinking. And when he lies, take notice of the place where he lies. And you shall go and uncover[a] his feet and lie down, and he shall tell you what to do.” And she said to her, “I will do all that you say.”

And she went down to the threshing floor and did all that her mother-in-law had instructed her. And Boaz ate and drank until his heart was merry[b] and then he came to lie at the end of the grain heap. And she came in quietly and uncovered[c] his feet and lay down.

Acts 7:17-29

17 “But as the time of the promise that God had made to Abraham was drawing near, the people increased and multiplied in Egypt 18 until another king arose over Egypt who did not know Joseph. 19 This man deceitfully took advantage of our[a] people and[b] mistreated our ancestors, causing them to abandon their infants[c] so that they would not be kept alive. 20 At this time Moses was born, and he was beautiful to God. He[d] was brought up for three months in his[e] father’s house, 21 and when[f] he was abandoned, the daughter of Pharaoh took him up and brought him up as her own son.[g] 22 And Moses was educated in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was powerful in his words and deeds.

23 “But when he was forty years old,[h] it entered in his heart to visit his brothers, the sons of Israel. 24 And when he[i] saw one of them being unjustly harmed, he defended him[j] and avenged[k] the one who had been oppressed by[l] striking down the Egyptian. 25 And he thought his[m] brothers would understand that God was granting deliverance to them by his hand, but they did not understand. 26 And on the following day, he made an appearance to them while they[n] were fighting and was attempting to reconcile[o] them in peace, saying, ‘Men and brothers, why are you doing wrong to one another?’ 27 But the one who was doing wrong to his[p] neighbor pushed him aside, saying, ‘Who appointed you a ruler and a judge over us? 28 You do not want to do away with me the same way[q] you did away with the Egyptian yesterday, do you?’[r] 29 And at this statement, Moses fled and became a foreigner in the land of Midian, where he became the father of two sons.
