Job 42:1-6

Job’s Confession

42 Then Job answered the Lord and said,

“I know that (A)You can do all things,
And that no purpose of Yours can be thwarted.
‘Who is this that (B)hides counsel without knowledge?’
Therefore I have declared that which I did not understand,
Things (C)too wonderful for me, which I did not know.”
‘Hear, now, and I will speak;
I will (D)ask You, and You instruct me.’
“I have (E)heard of You by the hearing of the ear;
But now my (F)eye sees You;
Therefore I retract,
And I repent in dust and ashes.”

Job 42:10-17

God Restores Job’s Fortunes

10 The Lord (A)restored the fortunes of Job when he prayed for his friends, and the Lord increased all that Job had twofold. 11 Then all his (B)brothers and all his sisters and all who had known him before came to him, and they ate bread with him in his house; and they (C)consoled him and comforted him for all the adversities that the Lord had brought on him. And each one gave him one [a]piece of money, and each a ring of gold. 12 (D)The Lord blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning; (E)and he had 14,000 sheep and 6,000 camels and 1,000 yoke of oxen and 1,000 female donkeys. 13 (F)He had seven sons and three daughters. 14 He named the first Jemimah, and the second Keziah, and the third Keren-happuch. 15 In all the land no women were found so fair as Job’s daughters; and their father gave them inheritance among their brothers. 16 After this, Job lived 140 years, and saw his sons and his grandsons, four generations. 17 (G)And Job died, an old man and full of days.

Psalm 34:1-8

The Lord, a Provider and Deliverer.

A Psalm of David when he [a]feigned madness before [b]Abimelech, who drove him away and he departed.

34 I will (A)bless the Lord at all times;
His (B)praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My soul will (C)make its boast in the Lord;
The (D)humble will hear it and rejoice.
O (E)magnify the Lord with me,
And let us (F)exalt His name together.

I (G)sought the Lord, and He answered me,
And (H)delivered me from all my fears.
They (I)looked to Him and were radiant,
And their faces will (J)never be ashamed.
This [c]poor man cried, and (K)the Lord heard him
And saved him out of all his troubles.
The (L)angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him,
And rescues them.

O (M)taste and see that the Lord is good;
How (N)blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!

Psalm 34:19-22

19 (A)Many are the (B)afflictions of the righteous,
But the Lord (C)delivers him out of them all.
20 He keeps all his bones,
(D)Not one of them is broken.
21 (E)Evil shall slay the wicked,
And those who hate the righteous will be [a]condemned.
22 The Lord (F)redeems the soul of His servants,
And none of those who (G)take refuge in Him will be [b]condemned.

Hebrews 7:23-28

23 [a]The former priests, on the one hand, existed in greater numbers because they were prevented by death from continuing, 24 but Jesus, on the other hand, because He continues (A)forever, holds His priesthood permanently. 25 Therefore He is able also to (B)save [b]forever those who (C)draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to (D)make intercession for them.

26 For it was fitting for us to have such a (E)high priest, (F)holy, (G)innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners and (H)exalted above the heavens; 27 who does not need daily, like those high priests, to (I)offer up sacrifices, (J)first for His own sins and then for the sins of the people, because this He did (K)once for all when He (L)offered up Himself. 28 For the Law appoints men as high priests (M)who are weak, but the word of the oath, which came after the Law, appoints (N)a Son, (O)made perfect forever.

Mark 10:46-52

Bartimaeus Receives His Sight

46 (A)Then they *came to Jericho. And (B)as He was leaving Jericho with His disciples and a large crowd, a blind beggar named Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, was sitting by the road. 47 When he heard that it was Jesus the (C)Nazarene, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, (D)Son of David, have mercy on me!” 48 Many were sternly telling him to be quiet, but he kept crying out all the more, “(E)Son of David, have mercy on me!” 49 And Jesus stopped and said, “Call him here.” So they *called the blind man, saying to him, “(F)Take courage, stand up! He is calling for you.” 50 Throwing aside his cloak, he jumped up and came to Jesus. 51 And answering him, Jesus said, “What do you want Me to do for you?” And the blind man said to Him, “[a](G)Rabboni, I want to regain my sight!” 52 And Jesus said to him, “Go; (H)your faith has [b]made you well.” Immediately he regained his sight and began following Him on the road.
