O Lord my God, You are very great:
You are clothed with honor and majesty,
² Who cover Yourself with light as with a garment,
Who stretch out the heavens like a curtain.

^3 (C)He lays the beams of His upper chambers in the waters,
Who makes the clouds His chariot,
Who walks on the wings of the wind,
⁴ Who makes His angels spirits,
His ^[a]ministers a flame of fire.

⁵ You who ^[b]laid the foundations of the earth,
So that it should not be moved forever,
⁶ You ^(D)covered it with the deep as with a garment;
The waters stood above the mountains.
⁷ At Your rebuke they fled;
At the voice of Your thunder they hastened away.
^8 [c]They went up over the mountains;
They went down into the valleys,
To the place which You founded for them.
⁹ You have ^(E)set a boundary that they may not pass over,
^(F)That they may not return to cover the earth.

^24 (A)O Lord, how manifold are Your works!
In wisdom You have made them all.
The earth is full of Your ^(B)possessions—

Bless the Lord, O my soul!
^[a]Praise the Lord!

² “Bear with me a little, and I will show you
That there are yet words to speak on God’s behalf.
³ I will fetch my knowledge from afar;
I will ascribe righteousness to my Maker.
⁴ For truly my words are not false;
One who is perfect in knowledge is with you.

⁵ “Behold, God is mighty, but despises no one;
^(A)He is mighty in strength ^[a]of understanding.
⁶ He does not preserve the life of the wicked,
But gives justice to the ^(B)oppressed.
^7 (C)He does not withdraw His eyes from the righteous;
But ^(D)they are on the throne with kings,
For He has seated them forever,
And they are exalted.
⁸ And ^(E)if they are bound in ^[b]fetters,
Held in the cords of affliction,
⁹ Then He tells them their work and their transgressions—
That they have acted ^[c]defiantly.
^10 (F)He also opens their ear to ^[d]instruction,
And commands that they turn from iniquity.
¹¹ If they obey and serve Him,
They shall ^(G)spend their days in prosperity,
And their years in pleasures.
¹² But if they do not obey,
They shall perish by the sword,
And they shall die ^[e]without ^(H)knowledge.

¹³ “But the hypocrites in heart ^(I)store up wrath;
They do not cry for help when He binds them.
^14 (J)They^[f] die in youth,
And their life ends among the ^[g]perverted persons.
¹⁵ He delivers the poor in their affliction,
And opens their ears in oppression.

¹⁶ “Indeed He would have brought you out of dire distress,
^(K)Into a broad place where there is no restraint;
And ^(L)what is set on your table would be full of ^(M)richness.

^(F)“For this reason I will confess to You among the Gentiles,
And sing to Your name.”

^(G)“Rejoice, O Gentiles, with His people!”

^(H)“Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles!
Laud Him, all you peoples!”

^(I)“There shall be a root of Jesse;
And He who shall rise to reign over the Gentiles,
In Him the Gentiles shall hope.”
