A Song of degrees.

130 Out of the depths do I call upon thee, Jehovah.

² Lord, hear my voice; let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplication.

³ If thou, Jah, shouldest mark iniquities, Lord, who shall stand?

⁴ But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.

⁵ I wait for Jehovah; my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.

⁶ My soul [waiteth] for the Lord more than the watchers [wait] for the morning, [more than] the watchers for the morning.

⁷ Let Israel hope in Jehovah, because with Jehovah there is loving-kindness, and with him is plenteous redemption;

⁸ And he will redeem Israel from all his iniquities.

²⁵ But in all Israel there was none to be so much praised as Absalom for his beauty: from the sole of his foot even to the crown of his head there was no blemish in him.

²⁶ And when he shaved his head (for it was at every year's end that he shaved it, because it was heavy on him, therefore he shaved it), he weighed the hair of his head at two hundred shekels after the king's weight.

²⁷ And to Absalom there were born three sons, and one daughter, whose name was Tamar: she was a woman of a beautiful countenance.

²⁸ So Absalom dwelt two full years in Jerusalem, and did not see the king's face.

²⁹ Then Absalom sent for Joab, to send him to the king; but he would not come to him; and he sent again the second time, but he would not come.

³⁰ Then he said to his servants, See, Joab's allotment is near mine and he has barley there: go and set it on fire. And Absalom's servants set the allotment on fire.

³¹ Then Joab arose, and came to Absalom to [his] house, and said to him, Why have thy servants set my allotment on fire?

³² And Absalom said to Joab, Behold, I sent to thee, saying, Come hither, that I may send thee to the king, to say, Why am I come from Geshur? it would have been better for me to be there still. And now let me see the king's face; and if there be iniquity in me, let him slay me.

³³ And Joab came to the king, and told him. And he called Absalom, and he came to the king, and bowed himself on his face to the ground before the king; and the king kissed Absalom.

6 Brethren, if even a man be taken in some fault, ye who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of meekness, considering thyself lest *thou* also be tempted.

² Bear one another's burdens, and thus fulfil the law of the Christ.

³ For if any man reputes himself to be something, being nothing, he deceives himself;

⁴ but let each prove his own work, and then he will have his boast in what belongs to himself alone, and not in what belongs to another.

⁵ For each shall bear his own burden.

⁶ Let him that is taught in the word communicate to him that teaches in all good things.

⁷ Be not deceived: God is not mocked; for whatever a man shall sow, that also shall he reap.

⁸ For he that sows to his own flesh, shall reap corruption from the flesh; but he that sows to the Spirit, from the Spirit shall reap eternal life:

⁹ but let us not lose heart in doing good; for in due time, if we do not faint, we shall reap.

¹⁰ So then, as we have occasion, let us do good towards all, and specially towards those of the household of faith.
