Psalm 89:20-37

20 “I have (A)found David My servant;
With My holy (B)oil I have anointed him,
21 With whom (C)My hand will be established;
My arm also will (D)strengthen him.
22 “The enemy will not [a]deceive him,
Nor the [b](E)son of wickedness afflict him.
23 “But I shall (F)crush his adversaries before him,
And strike those who hate him.
24 “My (G)faithfulness and My lovingkindness will be with him,
And in My name his (H)horn will be exalted.
25 “I shall also set his hand (I)on the sea
And his right hand on the rivers.
26 “He will cry to Me, ‘You are (J)my Father,
My God, and the (K)rock of my salvation.’
27 “I also shall make him My (L)firstborn,
The (M)highest of the kings of the earth.
28 “My (N)lovingkindness I will keep for him forever,
And My (O)covenant shall be confirmed to him.
29 “So I will establish his [c](P)descendants forever
And his (Q)throne (R)as the days of heaven.

30 “If his sons (S)forsake My law
And do not walk in My judgments,
31 If they [d]violate My statutes
And do not keep My commandments,
32 Then I will punish their transgression with the (T)rod
And their iniquity with stripes.
33 “But I will not break off (U)My lovingkindness from him,
Nor deal falsely in My faithfulness.
34 “My (V)covenant I will not [e]violate,
Nor will I (W)alter [f]the utterance of My lips.
35 [g]Once I have (X)sworn by My holiness;
I will not lie to David.
36 “His [h](Y)descendants shall endure forever
And his (Z)throne (AA)as the sun before Me.
37 “It shall be established forever (AB)like the moon,
And the (AC)witness in the sky is faithful.” [i]Selah.

1 Chronicles 15:1-2

Plans to Move the Ark to Jerusalem

15 Now David built houses for himself in the city of David; and he prepared a place for the ark of God and (A)pitched a tent for it. Then David said, “(B)No one is to carry the ark of God but the Levites; for the Lord chose them to carry the ark of God and to minister to Him forever.”

1 Chronicles 16:4-13

He appointed some of the Levites as ministers before the ark of the Lord, even to celebrate and to thank and praise the Lord God of Israel: Asaph the chief, and second to him Zechariah, then [a]Jeiel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, Obed-edom and Jeiel, with musical instruments, harps, lyres; also Asaph played loud-sounding cymbals, and Benaiah and Jahaziel the priests blew trumpets continually before the ark of the covenant of God.

Then on that day David (A)first assigned [b]Asaph and his [c]relatives to give thanks to the Lord.

Psalm of Thanksgiving

(B)Oh give thanks to the Lord, call upon His name;
(C)Make known His deeds among the peoples.
Sing to Him, sing praises to Him;
[d]Speak of all His [e]wonders.
10 [f]Glory in His holy name;
Let the heart of those who seek the Lord be glad.
11 (D)Seek the Lord and His strength;
Seek His face continually.
12 (E)Remember His wonderful deeds which He has done,
(F)His marvels and the judgments from His mouth,
13 O seed of Israel His servant,
Sons of Jacob, His chosen ones!

Luke 18:35-43

Bartimaeus Receives Sight

35 (A)As [a](B)Jesus was approaching Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the road begging. 36 Now hearing a crowd going by, he began to inquire what this was. 37 They told him that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by. 38 And he called out, saying, “Jesus, (C)Son of David, have mercy on me!” 39 Those who led the way were sternly telling him to be quiet; but he kept crying out all the more, “(D)Son of David, have mercy on me!” 40 And Jesus stopped and commanded that he be brought to Him; and when he came near, He questioned him, 41 “What do you want Me to do for you?” And he said, “Lord, I want to regain my sight!” 42 And Jesus said to him, [b]Receive your sight; (E)your faith has [c]made you well.” 43 Immediately he regained his sight and began following Him, (F)glorifying God; and when (G)all the people saw it, they gave praise to God.
