51 Have mercy upon me, O God, according to Thy lovingkindness; according unto the multitude of Thy tender mercies, blot out my transgressions.

² Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.

³ For I acknowledge my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me.

⁴ Against Thee, Thee only, have I sinned and done this evil in Thy sight, that Thou mightest be justified when Thou speakest, and be clear when Thou judgest.

⁵ Behold, I was shaped in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me.

⁶ Behold, Thou desirest truth in my inward parts; in the hidden part Thou shalt make me to know wisdom.

⁷ Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

⁸ Make me to hear joy and gladness, that the bones which Thou hast broken may rejoice.

⁹ Hide Thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.

¹⁰ Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.

¹¹ Cast me not away from Thy presence, and take not Thy holy Spirit from me.

¹² Restore unto me the joy of Thy salvation, and uphold me with Thy free Spirit.

30 “And thou shalt make an altar to burn incense upon; of shittim wood shalt thou make it.

² A cubit shall be the length thereof and a cubit the breadth thereof. Foursquare shall it be, and two cubits shall be the height thereof. The horns thereof shall be part of the same.

³ And thou shalt overlay it with pure gold, the top thereof and the sides thereof round about, and the horns thereof; and thou shalt make unto it a crown of gold round about.

⁴ And two golden rings shalt thou make for it under the crown of it, by the two corners thereof; upon the two sides of it shalt thou make it; and they shall be for places for the staves to bear it.

⁵ And thou shalt make the staves of shittim wood and overlay them with gold.

⁶ And thou shalt put it before the veil that is by the ark of the Testimony, before the mercy seat that is over the Testimony, where I will meet with thee.

⁷ And Aaron shall burn thereon sweet incense every morning. When he dresseth the lamps, he shall burn incense upon it.

⁸ And when Aaron lighteth the lamps at evening, he shall burn incense upon it, a perpetual incense before the Lord throughout your generations.

⁹ Ye shall offer no strange incense thereon, nor burnt sacrifice, nor meat offering; neither shall ye pour drink offering thereon.

¹⁰ And Aaron shall make an atonement upon the horns of it once in a year with the blood of the sin offering of atonements. Once in the year shall he make atonement upon it throughout your generations. It is most holy unto the Lord.”

¹⁴ Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed into the Heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast to our profession.

¹⁵ For we do not have a High Priest who cannot be touched with the feelings of our infirmities, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.

¹⁶ Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

5 For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins;

² who can have compassion on the ignorant and on those who are outside of the Way, since he himself is also encompassed by infirmity.

³ And by reason hereof, he ought, both for the people and also for himself, to make offering for sins.

⁴ And no man taketh this honor unto himself, except he that is called by God, as was Aaron.
