Psalm 107:1-16

107 O give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good; for His mercy endureth for ever.

Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom He hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy,

and gathered them out of the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south.

They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in.

Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted within them.

Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, and He delivered them out of their distresses.

And He led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city for habitation.

Oh that men would praise the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!

For He satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.

10 They that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and irons,

11 because they rebelled against the words of God and contemned the counsel of the Most High,

12 therefore He brought down their heart with labor; they fell down and there was none to help.

13 Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, and He saved them out of their distresses.

14 He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and broke their bonds asunder.

15 Oh that men would praise the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!

16 For He hath broken the gates of brass and cut the bars of iron asunder.

Isaiah 60:15-22

15 “Whereas thou hast been forsaken and hated, so that no man went through thee, I will make thee an eternal excellency, a joy of many generations.

16 Thou shalt also suck the milk of the Gentiles, and shalt suck the breast of kings; and thou shalt know that I the Lord, am thy Savior and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.

17 “For brass I will bring gold, and for iron I will bring silver, and for wood, brass, and for stones, iron. I will also make thy officers peace and thine exactors righteousness.

18 Violence shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shalt call thy walls Salvation and thy gates Praise.

19 The sun shall be no more thy light by day, neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee; but the Lord shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory.

20 Thy sun shall no more go down, neither shall thy moon withdraw itself; for the Lord shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.

21 Thy people also shall be all righteous; they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of My planting, the work of My hands, that I may be glorified.

22 A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation; I, the Lord, will hasten it in his time.”

John 8:12-20

12 Then spoke Jesus again unto them, saying, “I am the Light of the world. He that followeth Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”

13 The Pharisees therefore said unto Him, “Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is not true.”

14 Jesus answered and said unto them, “Though I bear record of Myself, yet My record is true, for I know whence I came and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come and whither I go.

15 Ye judge according to the flesh; I judge no man.

16 And yet if I judge, My judgment is true; for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent Me.

17 It is also written in your law that the testimony of two men is true.

18 I am One that bear witness of Myself, and the Father that sent Me beareth witness of Me.”

19 Then they said unto Him, “Where is thy father?” Jesus answered, “Ye neither know Me, nor My Father. If ye had known Me, ye should have known My Father also.”

20 These words spoke Jesus in the treasury as He taught in the temple, and no man laid hands on Him, for His hour was not yet come.
