Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
5 My soul, (A)wait in silence for God only,
For my hope is from Him.
6 He only is (B)my rock and my salvation,
My stronghold; I shall not be shaken.
7 On God my (C)salvation and my glory rest;
The rock of my strength, my (D)refuge is in God.
8 (E)Trust in Him at all times, O people;
(F)Pour out your heart before Him;
God is a refuge for us. Selah.
14 Cursed be the (A)day when I was born;
Let the day not be blessed when my mother bore me!
15 Cursed be the man who brought the news
To my father, saying,
“A [a](B)baby boy has been born to you!”
And made him very happy.
16 But let that man be like the cities
Which the Lord (C)overthrew without [b]relenting,
And let him hear an (D)outcry in the morning
And a [c]shout of alarm at noon;
17 Because he did not (E)kill me [d]before birth,
So that my mother would have been my grave,
And her womb ever pregnant.
18 Why did I ever come forth from the womb
To (F)look on trouble and sorrow,
So that my (G)days have been spent in (H)shame?
13 “(A)Woe to you, (B)Chorazin! Woe to you, (C)Bethsaida! For if the [a]miracles had been performed in (D)Tyre and Sidon which occurred in you, they would have repented long ago, sitting in [b](E)sackcloth and ashes. 14 But it will be more tolerable for (F)Tyre and Sidon in the judgment than for you. 15 And you, (G)Capernaum, will not be exalted to heaven, will you? You will be brought down to Hades!
16 “(H)The one who listens to you listens to Me, and (I)the one who rejects you rejects Me; and he who rejects Me rejects the One who sent Me.”
