The Creation
1 (A)In the beginning (B)God (C)created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was [a](D)formless and void, and (E)darkness was over the [b]surface of the deep, and (F)the Spirit of God (G)was [c]moving over the [d]surface of the waters. 3 Then (H)God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was (I)good; and God (J)separated the light from the darkness. 5 (K)God called the light day, and the darkness He called night. Ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
2 Ascribe to the Lord the glory [b]due to His name;

3 The (C)voice of the Lord is upon the waters;
The God of glory (D)thunders,
The Lord is over [d](E)many waters.
4 The voice of the Lord is (F)powerful,
The voice of the Lord is majestic.
5 The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars;
Yes, the Lord breaks in pieces (G)the cedars of Lebanon.
6 He makes Lebanon (H)skip like a calf,
And (I)Sirion like a young wild ox.
7 The voice of the Lord hews out [e]flames of fire.
8 The voice of the Lord [f]shakes the wilderness;
The Lord shakes the wilderness of (J)Kadesh.

Paul at Ephesus
19 It happened that while (A)Apollos was at (B)Corinth, Paul passed through the (C)upper country and came to (D)Ephesus, and found some disciples. 2 He said to them, “(E)Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” And they said to him, “No, (F)we have not even heard whether [a]there is a Holy Spirit.” 3 And he said, “Into what then were you baptized?” And they said, “(G)Into John’s baptism.” 4 Paul said, “(H)John baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people (I)to believe in Him who was coming after him, that is, in Jesus.” 5 When they heard this, they were (J)baptized [b]in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 And when Paul had (K)laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they began (L)speaking with tongues and (M)prophesying. 7 There were in all about twelve men.
4 John the Baptist appeared in the wilderness [a](A)preaching a baptism of repentance for the (B)forgiveness of sins. 5 And all the country of Judea was going out to him, and all the people of Jerusalem; and they were being baptized by him in the Jordan River, confessing their sins. 6 John was clothed with camel’s hair and wore (C)a leather belt around his waist, and [b]his diet was locusts and wild honey. 7 And he was [c]preaching, and saying, “After me One is coming who is mightier than I, and I am not fit to stoop down and untie the thong of His sandals. 8 I baptized you [d]with water; but He will baptize you [e]with the Holy Spirit.”
The Baptism of Jesus
9 (D)In those days Jesus (E)came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. 10 Immediately coming up out of the water, He saw the heavens [f]opening, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon Him; 11 and a voice came out of the heavens: “(F)You are My beloved Son, in You I am well-pleased.”
