Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
110 The Lord said unto my Lord, “Sit Thou at My right hand, until I make Thine enemies Thy footstool.”
2 The Lord shall send the rod of Thy strength out of Zion. Rule Thou in the midst of Thine enemies!
3 Thy people shall be willing in the day of Thy power; in the beauties of holiness, from the womb of the morning, Thou hast the dew of Thy youth.
4 The Lord hath sworn and will not repent: “Thou art a priest for ever, after the order of Melchizedek.”
5 The Lord at Thy right hand shall strike through kings in the day of His wrath.
6 He shall judge among the heathen, He shall fill the places with dead bodies, He shall wound the heads over many countries.
7 He shall drink of the brook on the way; therefore shall He lift up the head.
3 My son, forget not my law, but let thine heart keep my commandments;
2 for length of days and long life and peace shall they add to thee.
3 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee; bind them about thy neck, write them upon the tablet of thine heart.
4 So shalt thou find favor and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding;
6 in all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.
7 Be not wise in thine own eyes; fear the Lord and depart from evil.
8 It shall be health to thy flesh and marrow to thy bones.
9 Honor the Lord with thy substance and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:
10 so shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.
11 My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord, neither be weary of His correction;
12 for whom the Lord loveth, He correcteth, even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.
11 Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law and judgeth the law. But if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.
12 There is one Lawgiver who is able to save and to destroy. Who art thou that judgest another?
13 Come now, ye that say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a city and continue there a year, and buy and sell and get gain”;
14 whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
15 Instead ye ought to say, “If the Lord will, we shall live and do this or that.”
16 But now ye rejoice in your boastings. All such rejoicing is evil.
17 Therefore to him that knoweth how to do good and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
