28 Unto Thee will I cry, O Lord my rock; be not silent to me, lest, if Thou be silent, I become like them that go down into the pit.

² Hear the voice of my supplications when I cry unto Thee, when I lift up my hands toward the oracle of Thy sanctuary.

³ Draw me not away with the wicked and with the workers of iniquity, who speak peace to their neighbors, but mischief is in their hearts.

⁴ Give to them according to their deeds and according to the wickedness of their endeavors; give to them according to the work of their hands; render to them their deserts.

⁵ Because they regard not the works of the Lord, nor the operation of His hands, He shall destroy them and not build them up.

⁶ Blessed be the Lord, because He hath heard the voice of my supplications!

⁷ The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in Him, and I am helped. Therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth, and with my song will I praise Him.

⁸ The Lord is their strength, and He is the saving strength of His anointed.

⁹ Save the people, and bless Thine inheritance; feed them also, and lift them up forever.

¹⁵ And Moses spoke unto the Lord, saying,

¹⁶ “Let the Lord, the God of the spirits of all flesh, set a man over the congregation,

¹⁷ who may go out before them and who may go in before them and who may lead them out and who may bring them in, that the congregation of the Lord be not as sheep which have no shepherd.”

¹⁸ And the Lord said unto Moses, “Take thee Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom is the Spirit, and lay thine hand upon him;

¹⁹ and set him before Eleazar the priest and before all the congregation, and give him a charge in their sight.

²⁰ And thou shalt put some of thine honor upon him, that all the congregation of the children of Israel may be obedient.

²¹ And he shall stand before Eleazar the priest, who shall ask counsel for him by the judgment of the Urim before the Lord. At his word shall they go out, and at his word they shall come in, both he and all the children of Israel with him, even all the congregation.”

²² And Moses did as the Lord commanded him, and he took Joshua and set him before Eleazar the priest and before all the congregation.

²³ And he laid his hands upon him and gave him a charge, as the Lord commanded by the hand of Moses.

⁸ Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my Gospel,

⁹ wherein I suffer trouble as an evildoer, even unto bonds. But the Word of God is not bound.

¹⁰ Therefore I endure all things for the elect’s sake, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.

¹¹ It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with Him, we shall also live with Him;

¹² if we suffer, we shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us;

¹³ if we believe not, yet He abideth faithful; He cannot deny Himself.
