12 And the Lord said to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt:

² This month shall be to you the beginning of months: it shall be the first in the months of the year.

³ Speak ye to the whole assembly of the children of Israel, and say to them: On the tenth day of this month let every man take a lamb by their families and houses.

⁴ But if the number be less than may suffice to eat the lamb, he shall take unto him his neighbour that joineth to his house, according to the number of souls which may be enough to eat the lamb.

⁵ And it shall be a lamb without blemish, a male, of one year: according to which rite also you shall take a kid.

⁶ And you shall keep it until the fourteenth day of this month: and the whole multitude of the children of Israel shall sacrifice it in the evening.

⁷ And they shall take of the blood thereof, and put it upon both the side posts, and on the upper door posts of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.

⁸ And they shall eat the flesh that night roasted at the fire, and unleavened bread with wild lettuce.

⁹ You shall not eat thereof any thing raw, nor boiled in water, but only roasted at the fire: you shall eat the head with the feet and entrails thereof.

¹⁰ Neither shall there remain any thing of it until morning. If there be any thing left, you shall burn it with fire.

¹¹ And thus you shall eat it: you shall gird your reins, and you shall have shoes on your feet, holding staves in your hands, and you shall eat in haste: for it is the Phase (that is the Passage) of the Lord.

¹² And I will pass through the land of Egypt that night, and will kill every firstborn in the land of Egypt both man and beast: and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgments: I am the Lord.

¹³ And the blood shall be unto you for a sign in the houses where you shall be: and I shall see the blood, and shall pass over you: and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I shall strike the land of Egypt.

¹⁴ And this day shall be for a memorial to you: and you shall keep it a feast to the Lord in your generations with an everlasting observance.

149 Sing ye to the Lord a new canticle: let his praise be in the church of the saints.

² Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: and let the children of Sion be joyful in their king.

³ Let them praise his name in choir: let them sing to him with the timbrel and the psaltery.

⁴ For the Lord is well pleased with his people: and he will exalt the meek unto salvation.

⁵ The saints shall rejoice in glory: they shall be joyful in their beds.

⁶ The high praise of God shall be in their mouth: and two-edged swords in their hands:

⁷ To execute vengeance upon the nations, chastisements among the people:

⁸ To bind their kings with fetters, and their nobles with manacles of iron.

⁹ To execute upon them the judgment that is written: this glory is to all his saints. Alleluia.

⁸ Owe no man any thing, but to love one another. For he that loveth his neighbour, hath fulfilled the law.

⁹ For Thou shalt not commit adultery: Thou shalt not kill: Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness: Thou shalt not covet: and if there be any other commandment, it is comprised in this word, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

¹⁰ The love of our neighbour worketh no evil. Love therefore is the fulfilling of the law.

¹¹ And that knowing the season; that it is now the hour for us to rise from sleep. For now our salvation is nearer than when we believed.

¹² The night is passed, and the day is at hand. Let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and put on the armour of light.

¹³ Let us walk honestly, as in the day: not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and impurities, not in contention and envy:

¹⁴ But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh in its concupiscences.

¹⁵ But if thy brother shall offend against thee, go, and rebuke him between thee and him alone. If he shall hear thee, thou shalt gain thy brother.

¹⁶ And if he will not hear thee, take with thee one or two more: that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may stand.

¹⁷ And if he will not hear them: tell the church. And if he will not hear the church, let him be to thee as the heathen and publican.

¹⁸ Amen I say to you, whatsoever you shall bind upon earth, shall be bound also in heaven; and whatsoever you shall loose upon earth, shall be loosed also in heaven.

¹⁹ Again I say to you, that if two of you shall consent upon earth, concerning any thing whatsoever they shall ask, it shall be done to them by my Father who is in heaven.

²⁰ For where there are two or three gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
