8 Unto the end, for the presses: a psalm of David.

² O Lord our Lord, how admirable is thy name in the whole earth! For thy magnificence is elevated above the heavens.

³ Out of the mouth of infants and of sucklings thou hast perfected praise, because of thy enemies, that thou mayst destroy the enemy and the avenger.

⁴ For I will behold thy heavens, the works of thy fingers: the moon and the stars which thou hast founded.

⁵ What is man that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man that thou visitest him?

⁶ Thou hast made him a little less than the angels, thou hast crowned him with glory and honour:

⁷ And hast set him over the works of thy hands.

⁸ Thou hast subjected all things under his feet, all sheep and oxen: moreover the beasts also of the fields.

⁹ The birds of the air, and the fishes of the sea, that pass through the paths of the sea.

¹⁰ O Lord our Lord, how admirable is thy name in all the earth!

1 These are the names of the children of Israel, that went into Egypt with Jacob: they went in, every man with his household:

² Ruben, Simeon, Levi, Juda,

³ Issachar, Zabulon, and Benjamin,

⁴ Dan, and Nephtali, Gad and Aser.

⁵ And all the souls that came out of Jacob's thigh, were seventy: but Joseph was in Egypt.

⁶ After he was dead, and all his brethren, and all that generation,

⁷ The children of Israel increased, and sprung up into multitudes, and growing exceedingly strong they filled the land.

2 Wherefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest. For wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself. For thou dost the same things which thou judgest.

² For we know that the judgment of God is, according to truth, against them that do such things.

³ And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them who do such things, and dost the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?

⁴ Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness, and patience, and longsuffering? Knowest thou not, that the benignity of God leadeth thee to penance?

⁵ But according to thy hardness and impenitent heart, thou treasurest up to thyself wrath, against the day of wrath, and revelation of the just judgment of God.

⁶ Who will render to every man according to his works.

⁷ To them indeed, who according to patience in good work, seek glory and honour and incorruption, eternal life:

⁸ But to them that are contentious, and who obey not the truth, but give credit to iniquity, wrath and indignation.

⁹ Tribulation and anguish upon every soul of man that worketh evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Greek.

¹⁰ But glory, and honour, and peace to every one that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

¹¹ For there is no respect of persons with God.
