Psalm 105:1-11

Psalm 105

Give thanks to Yahweh.
    Call on him.
Make known among the nations what he has done.
Sing to him.
    Make music to praise him.
Meditate on all the miracles he has performed.
Brag about his holy name.
Let the hearts of those who seek Yahweh rejoice.
Search for Yahweh and his strength.
    Always seek his presence.
Remember the miracles he performed,
the amazing things he did, and the judgments he pronounced,
you descendants of his servant Abraham,
you descendants of Jacob, his chosen ones.

He is Yahweh our Elohim.
His judgments are pronounced throughout the earth.
He always remembers his promise,[a]
the word that he commanded for a thousand generations,
the promise that he made to Abraham,
and his sworn oath to Isaac.
10 He confirmed it as a law for Jacob,
as an everlasting promise to Israel,
11 by saying, “I will give you the land of Canaan.
It is your share of the inheritance.”

Psalm 105:45

45 so that they would obey his laws
    and follow his teachings.

Hallelujah!

Genesis 29:1-8

Jacob’s Arrival in Haran

29 Jacob continued on his trip and came to the land in the east. He looked around, and out in a field he saw a well with a large stone over the opening. Three flocks of sheep were lying down near it, because the flocks were watered from that well. When all the flocks were gathered there, the stone would be rolled off the opening of the well so that the sheep could be watered. Then the stone would be put back in place over the opening of the well.

Jacob asked some people, “My friends, where are you from?”

“We’re from Haran,” they replied.

He asked them, “Do you know Laban, Nahor’s grandson?”

They answered, “We do.”

“How is he doing?” Jacob asked them.

“He’s fine,” they answered. “Here comes his daughter Rachel with the sheep.”

“It’s still the middle of the day,” he said. “It isn’t time yet to gather the livestock. Water the sheep. Then let them graze.”

They replied, “We can’t until all the flocks are gathered. When the stone is rolled off the opening of the well, we can water the sheep.”

1 Corinthians 4:14-20

14 I’m not writing this to make you feel ashamed but to instruct you as my dear children. 15 You may have countless Christian guardians, but you don’t have many spiritual fathers. I became your father in the Christian life by telling you the Good News about Christ Yeshua. 16 So I encourage you to imitate me. 17 That’s why I’ve sent Timothy to you to help you remember my Christian way of life as I teach it everywhere in every church. Timothy is my dear child, and he faithfully does the Lord’s work.

18 Some of you have become arrogant because you think I won’t pay you a visit. 19 If it’s the Lord’s will, I’ll visit you soon. Then I’ll know what these arrogant people are saying and what power they have. 20 God’s kingdom is not just talk, it is power.
