Psalm 105:1-11

The Eternal Faithfulness of the Lord(A)

105 Oh, (B)give thanks to the Lord!
Call upon His name;
(C)Make known His deeds among the peoples!
Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him;
(D)Talk of all His wondrous works!
Glory in His holy name;
Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the Lord!
Seek the Lord and His strength;
(E)Seek His face evermore!
(F)Remember His marvelous works which He has done,
His wonders, and the judgments of His mouth,
O seed of Abraham His servant,
You children of Jacob, His chosen ones!

He is the Lord our God;
(G)His judgments are in all the earth.
He (H)remembers His covenant forever,
The word which He commanded, for a thousand generations,
(I)The covenant which He made with Abraham,
And His oath to Isaac,
10 And confirmed it to Jacob for a statute,
To Israel as an everlasting covenant,
11 Saying, (J)“To you I will give the land of Canaan
As the allotment of your inheritance,”

Psalm 105:45

45 (A)That they might observe His statutes
And keep His laws.

[a]Praise the Lord!

Genesis 29:1-8

Jacob Meets Rachel

29 So Jacob went on his journey (A)and came to the land of the people of the East. And he looked, and saw a (B)well in the field; and behold, there were three flocks of sheep lying by it; for out of that well they watered the flocks. A large stone was on the well’s mouth. Now all the flocks would be gathered there; and they would roll the stone from the well’s mouth, water the sheep, and put the stone back in its place on the well’s mouth.

And Jacob said to them, “My brethren, where are you from?”

And they said, “We are from (C)Haran.”

Then he said to them, “Do you know (D)Laban the son of Nahor?”

And they said, “We know him.”

So he said to them, (E)“Is he well?”

And they said, “He is well. And look, his daughter Rachel (F)is coming with the sheep.”

Then he said, “Look, it is still [a]high day; it is not time for the cattle to be gathered together. Water the sheep, and go and feed them.

But they said, “We cannot until all the flocks are gathered together, and they have rolled the stone from the well’s mouth; then we water the sheep.”

1 Corinthians 4:14-20

Paul’s Paternal Care

14 I do not write these things to shame you, but (A)as my beloved children I warn you. 15 For though you might have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet you do not have many fathers; for (B)in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel. 16 Therefore I urge you, (C)imitate me. 17 For this reason I have sent (D)Timothy to you, (E)who is my beloved and faithful son in the Lord, who will (F)remind you of my ways in Christ, as I (G)teach everywhere (H)in every church.

18 (I)Now some are [a]puffed up, as though I were not coming to you. 19 (J)But I will come to you shortly, (K)if the Lord wills, and I will know, not the word of those who are puffed up, but the power. 20 For (L)the kingdom of God is not in word but in (M)power.
