11 Teach me Your way, Yahweh,
and I will live by Your truth.
Give me an undivided mind to fear Your name.(A)
12 I will praise You with all my heart, Lord my God,
and will honor Your name forever.(B)
13 For Your faithful love for me is great,
and You deliver my life from the depths of Sheol.(C)

a gang of ruthless men seeks my life.
They have no regard for You.(D)

slow to anger and rich in faithful love and truth.(E)
16 Turn to me and be gracious to me.
Give Your strength to Your servant;
save the son of Your female servant.(F)
17 Show me a sign of Your goodness;
my enemies will see and be put to shame
because You, Lord, have helped and comforted me.(G)
Ishmael’s Family Records
12 These are the family records(A) of Abraham’s son Ishmael,(B) whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah’s slave, bore to Abraham. 13 These are the names of Ishmael’s sons; their names according to the family records are: Nebaioth, Ishmael’s firstborn, then Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam, 14 Mishma, Dumah, Massa, 15 Hadad, Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah. 16 These are Ishmael’s sons, and these are their names by their villages and encampments: 12 leaders[a](C) of their clans.[b] 17 This is the length[c] of Ishmael’s life: 137 years. He took his last breath and died, and was gathered to his people. 18 And they[d] settled from Havilah to Shur, which is opposite Egypt as you go toward Asshur. He[e] lived in opposition to[f] all his brothers.(D)
The Letter to Smyrna
8 “Write to the angel of the church in Smyrna:
“The First and the Last, the One who was dead and came to life, says: 9 I know your[a] affliction and poverty, yet you are rich. I know the slander of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan. 10 Don’t be afraid of what you are about to suffer. Look, the Devil is about to throw some of you into prison to test you, and you will have affliction for 10 days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown[b] of life.
11 “Anyone who has an ear should listen to what the Spirit says to the churches. The victor will never be harmed by the second death.(A)
