Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
Thanksgiving for deliverance from death.
116 I love Jehovah, because he heareth
My voice and my supplications.
2 Because he hath inclined his ear unto me,
Therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.
12 What shall I render unto Jehovah
For all his benefits toward me?
13 I will take the cup of salvation,
And call upon the name of Jehovah.
14 I will pay my vows unto Jehovah,
Yea, in the presence of all his people.
15 Precious in the sight of Jehovah
Is the death of his saints.
16 O Jehovah, truly I am thy servant:
I am thy servant, the son of thy handmaid;
Thou hast loosed my bonds.
17 I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving,
And will call upon the name of Jehovah.
18 I will pay my vows unto Jehovah,
Yea, in the presence of all his people,
19 In the courts of Jehovah’s house,
In the midst of thee, O Jerusalem.
[a]Praise ye Jehovah.
21 And Jehovah visited Sarah as he had said, and Jehovah did unto Sarah as he had spoken. 2 And Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him. 3 And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac. 4 And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac when he was eight days old, as God had commanded him. 5 And Abraham was a hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born unto him. 6 And Sarah said, God hath [a]made me to laugh; every one that heareth will laugh with me. 7 And she said, Who would have said unto Abraham, that Sarah should give children suck? for I have borne him a son in his old age.
3 Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of a heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, even Jesus; 2 who was faithful to him that [a]appointed him, as also was Moses in all [b]his house. 3 For he hath been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, by so much as he that [c]built the house hath more honor than the house. 4 For every house is [d]builded by some one; but he that [e]built all things is God. 5 And Moses indeed was faithful in all [f]his house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were afterward to be spoken; 6 but Christ as a son, over [g]his house; whose house are we, if we hold fast our boldness and the glorying of our hope firm unto the end.
