Acts 2:1-21

1 The Apostles 4 filled with the holy Ghost 8 speak with divers tongues: 12 They are thought to be drunk, 15 but Peter disproveth that. 34 He teacheth that Christ is the Messiah: 37 And seeing the hearers astonied,  38 he exhorteth them to repentance.

And [a]when the day of Pentecost was [b]come, they were [c]all with one accord in one place.

And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing and mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they sat.

And there appeared unto them cloven tongues, like fire, and it sat upon each of them.

And they were all filled with the holy Ghost, and began to speak with [d]other tongues, as the [e]Spirit gave them utterance.

And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, men that feared God, of every nation under heaven.

Now when this was noised, the multitude came together and were astonied, because that every man heard them speak his own language.

And they wondered all, and marveled, saying among themselves, Behold, are not all these which speak, of Galilee?

[f]How then hear we every man our own language, wherein we were born?

Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the inhabitants of Mesopotamia, and of Judea, and of Cappadocia, of Pontus, and Asia,

10 And of Phrygia, and Pamphylia, of Egypt, and of the parts of Libya, which is beside Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, and [g]Jews, and Proselytes,

11 Cretes, and Arabians: we heard them speak in our own tongues the wonderful works of God.

12 [h]They were all then amazed, and doubted, saying one to another, What may this be?

13 And others [i]mocked, and said, They are full of new wine.

14 ¶ But Peter standing with the eleven, [j]lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judea, and ye all that inhabit Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken unto my words.

15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, since it is but the [k]third hour of the day.

16 But this is that, which was spoken by the [l]Prophet (A)Joel,

17 [m]And it shall be in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon [n]all [o]flesh, and your sons, and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.

18 And on my servants, and on mine handmaids I will pour out of my Spirit in those days, and they shall prophesy.

19 And I will show wonders in heaven above, and tokens in the earth beneath, blood, and fire, and the vapors of smoke.

20 The Sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come.

21 [p]And it shall be, that whosoever shall [q]call on the Name of the Lord, shall be saved.

Numbers 11:24-30

24 ¶ So Moses went out, and told the people the words of the Lord, and gathered seventy men of the Elders of the people, and set them round about the Tabernacle.

25 Then the Lord came down in a cloud, and spake unto him, and [a]took of the Spirit that was upon him, and put it upon the seventy Ancient men: and when the Spirit rested upon them, then they prophesied, and did not [b]cease.

26 But there remained two of the men in the host: the name of the one was Eldad, and the name of the other Medad, and the Spirit rested upon them, (for they were of them that were written, and went not out unto the Tabernacle) and they prophesied in the host.

27 Then there ran a young man, and told Moses, and said, Eldad and Medad do prophesy in the host.

28 And Joshua the son of Nun the servant of Moses one of his [c]young men answered and said, My lord Moses, [d]forbid them.

29 But Moses said unto him, Enviest thou for my sake? yea, would God that all the Lord’s people were Prophets, and that the Lord would put his spirit upon them.

30 And Moses returned into the host, he and the Elders of Israel.

Psalm 104:24-34

24 O Lord, how [a]manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches.

25 So is the sea great and wide: for therein are things creeping innumerable, both small beasts and great.

26 There go the ships, yea that [b]Leviathan, whom thou hast made to play therein.

27 [c]All these wait upon thee, that thou mayest give them food in due season.

28 Thou givest it to them, and they gather it, thou openest thy hand, and they are filled with good things.

29 But if thou [d]hide thy face, they are troubled: if thou take away their breath, they die and return to their dust:

30 Again if thou [e]send forth thy spirit, they are created, and thou renewest the face of the earth.

31 Glory be to the Lord forever: let the Lord rejoice in his works.

32 He looketh on the earth and it trembleth: he toucheth the mountains, and they [f]smoke.

33 I will sing unto the Lord all my life: I will praise my God, while I live.

34 Let my words be acceptable unto him: I will rejoice in the Lord.

Psalm 104:35

35 Let the sinners be [a]consumed out of the earth, and the wicked till there be no more: O my soul, praise thou the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.

1 Corinthians 12:3-13

[a]Wherefore I declare unto you, that no man (A)speaking by the spirit of God, calleth Jesus (B)[b]execrable: also no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the holy Ghost.

[c]Now there are diversities of gifts, but the [d]same Spirit.

And there are diversities of administrations, but the same Lord.

And there are diversities of [e]operations, but God is the same which worketh all in all.

But the manifestation of the Spirit is [f]given to every man, to [g]profit withal.

[h]For to one is given by the Spirit the word of [i]wisdom: and to another the word of knowledge, by the same Spirit:

And to another is given faith by the same Spirit: and to another the gifts of healing, by the same Spirit:

10 And to another the [j]operations of great works: and to another, [k]prophecy: and to another, the [l]discerning of spirits: and to another, diversities of tongues: and to another, the interpretation of tongues.

11 (C)And all these things worketh one and the selfsame Spirit, distributing to every man severally [m]as he will.

12 [n]For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of the body, which is one, though they be many, yet are but one body: [o]even so is [p]Christ.

13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into [q]one body, whether we be Jews, or Grecians, whether we be bond, or free, and have been all made to [r]drink into one Spirit.

John 20:19-23

19 (A)[a]The same day then at night, which was the first day of the week, and when the [b]doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and said to them, Peace be unto you.

20 And when he had so said, he showed unto them his hands, and his side. Then were the disciples glad when they had seen the Lord.

21 (B)Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father sent me, so send I you.

22 And when he had said that, he breathed on them, and said unto them, Receive the holy Ghost.

23 [c]Whosoever’s sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them: and whosoever’s sins ye retain, they are retained.

John 7:37-39

37 [a]Now in the [b]last and (A)great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

38 He that believeth in me, (B)as saith the [c]Scripture, out of his belly shall flow rivers of water of life.

39 ((C)This spake he of the Spirit, which they that believed in him, should receive: for the [d]holy Ghost was not yet given, because that Jesus was not yet [e]glorified.)
