Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
Praise to the Lord for His Fidelity to Israel.
99 (A)The Lord reigns, let the peoples tremble;
He [a](B)is enthroned above the cherubim, let the earth shake!
2 The Lord [b]is (C)great in Zion,
And He is (D)exalted above all the peoples.
3 Let them praise Your (E)great and awesome name;
(F)Holy is [c]He.
4 The [d]strength of the King (G)loves [e]justice;
You have established [f](H)equity;
You have (I)executed [g]justice and righteousness in Jacob.
5 [h](J)Exalt the Lord our God
And (K)worship at His footstool;
(L)Holy is He.
6 (M)Moses and Aaron were among His (N)priests,
And (O)Samuel was among those who (P)called on His name;
They (Q)called upon the Lord and He answered them.
7 He (R)spoke to them in the pillar of cloud;
They (S)kept His testimonies
And the statute that He gave them.
8 O Lord our God, You (T)answered them;
You were a (U)forgiving God to them,
And yet an (V)avenger of their evil deeds.
9 Exalt the Lord our God
And worship at His holy hill,
For holy is the Lord our God.
Solomon’s Benediction
54 (A)When Solomon had finished praying this entire prayer and supplication to the Lord, (B)he arose from before the altar of the Lord, from kneeling on his knees with his [a]hands spread toward heaven. 55 And he stood and (C)blessed all the assembly of Israel with a loud voice, saying:
56 “Blessed be the Lord, who has given rest to His people Israel, (D)according to all that He [b]promised; (E)not one word has [c]failed of all His good [d]promise, which He [e]promised through Moses His servant. 57 May the Lord our God be with us, as He was with our fathers; (F)may He not leave us or forsake us, 58 that (G)He may incline our hearts to Himself, to walk in all His ways and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His ordinances, which He commanded our fathers. 59 And may these words of mine, with which I have made supplication before the Lord, be near to the Lord our God day and night, that He may maintain the [f]cause of His servant and the [g]cause of His people Israel, [h]as each day requires, 60 so (H)that all the peoples of the earth may know that (I)the Lord is God; there is no one else. 61 (J)Let your heart therefore be [i]wholly devoted to the Lord our God, to walk in His statutes and to keep His commandments, as at this day.”
Dedicatory Sacrifices
62 (K)Now the king and all Israel with him (L)offered sacrifice before the Lord. 63 Solomon offered for the sacrifice of peace offerings, which he offered to the Lord, 22,000 oxen and 120,000 sheep. (M)So the king and all the sons of Israel dedicated the house of the Lord. 64 On the same day the king consecrated the middle of the court that was before the house of the Lord, because there he [j]offered the burnt offering and the grain offering and the fat of the peace offerings; for (N)the bronze altar that was before the Lord was too small to hold the burnt offering and the grain offering and the fat of the peace offerings.
65 So (O)Solomon observed the feast at that time, and all Israel with him, a great assembly (P)from the entrance of Hamath (Q)to the brook of Egypt, before the Lord our God, for seven days and seven more days, even fourteen days.
31 “(A)He who comes from above is above all, (B)he who is of the earth is from the earth and speaks of the earth. (C)He who comes from heaven is above all. 32 What He has seen and heard, of that He (D)testifies; and (E)no one receives His testimony. 33 He who has received His testimony (F)has set his seal to this, that God is true. 34 For He whom God has (G)sent speaks the words of God; [a](H)for He gives the Spirit without measure. 35 (I)The Father loves the Son and (J)has given all things into His hand. 36 He who (K)believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who (L)does not [b]obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”
