Acts 2:14

14 ¶ But Peter standing with the eleven, [a]lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judea, and ye all that inhabit Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken unto my words.

Acts 2:36-41

36 Therefore, let all the house of Israel know for a surety, that God hath [a]made him both Lord, and Christ, this Jesus, I say, whom ye have crucified.

37 Now when they heard it, they were pricked in their hearts, and said unto Peter and the other Apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

38 [b]Then Peter said unto them, Amend your lives, and be baptized every one of you in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins: and ye shall receive the gift of the holy Ghost.

39 For the [c]promise is made unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

40 [d]And with many other words he besought and exhorted them, saying, Save yourselves from this [froward] generation.

41 [e]Then they that gladly received his word, were baptized, and the same day there were added to the Church about three thousand souls.

Psalm 116:1-4

116 1 David being in great danger of Saul in the desert of M[…], perceiving the great and inestimable love of God toward him, magnifieth such great mercies, 13 and protesteth that he will be thankful for the same.

I [a]love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my prayers.

For he hath inclined his ear unto me, when I did call upon him [b]in my days.

When the snares of death compassed me, and the griefs of the grave caught me: When I found trouble and sorrow.

Then I called upon the Name of the Lord, saying, I beseech thee, O Lord, deliver my soul.

Psalm 116:12-19

12 What shall I render unto the Lord for all his benefits toward me?

13 I will [a]take the cup of salvation, and call upon the Name of the Lord.

14 I will pay my vows unto the Lord, even now in the presence of all his people.

15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the [b]death of his Saints.

16 Behold, Lord: for I am thy servant, I am thy servant, and the son of thine handmaid: thou hast broken my bonds.

17 I will offer to thee a sacrifice of praise, and will call upon the Name of the Lord.

18 I will pay my [c]vows unto the Lord, even now in the presence of all his people,

19 In the courts of the Lord’s house, even in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Praise ye the Lord.

1 Peter 1:17-23

17 [a]And if ye [b]call him Father, which without (A)respect of person judgeth according to every man’s work, pass the time of your dwelling here in fear.

18 [c]Knowing that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation, received by the traditions of the fathers,

19 (B)But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a Lamb undefiled, and without spot.

20 [d]Which was (C)ordained before the [e]foundation of the world, but was declared in the last times for your sakes,

21 Which by his means do believe in God that raised him from the dead, and gave him glory, that your faith and hope might be in God.

22 [f]Having purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit, to (D)love brotherly without feigning, love one another with a pure heart fervently:

23 Being born anew, not of mortal seed, but of immortal, by the word of God, who liveth and endureth forever.

Luke 24:13-35

13 (A)[a]And behold two of them went that same day to a town which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs, called Emmaus.

14 And they talked together of all these things that were done.

15 And it came to pass, as they communed together, and reasoned, that Jesus himself drew near, and went with them.

16 [b]But their eyes were holden, that they could not know him.

17 And he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another as ye walk and are sad?

18 And [c]the one (named Cleopas) answered and said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things which are come to pass therein in these days?

19 And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Of Jesus of Nazareth, which was a Prophet, mighty indeed and in word before God, and all people,

20 [d]And how the high Priests, and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him.

21 But we trusted that it had been he that should have delivered Israel, and as touching all these things, today is the third day, that they were done.

22 Yea, and certain women among us made us astonied, which came early unto the sepulcher.

23 And when they found not his body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of Angels, which said, that he was alive.

24 Therefore certain of them which were with us, went to the sepulcher, and found it even so as the women had said, but him they saw not.

25 Then he said unto them, O fools and slow of heart to believe all that the Prophets have spoken!

26 Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?

27 And he began at Moses, and at all the Prophets, and interpreted unto them in all the Scriptures the things which were written of him.

28 And they drew near unto the town, which they went to, but he made as though he would have gone further.

29 But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us, for it is towards night, and the day is far spent. So he went in to tarry with them.

30 And it came to pass, as he sat at table with them, he took the bread, and blessed, and brake it, and gave it to them.

31 Then their eyes were opened, and they knew him: and he was [e]no more seen of them.

32 And they said between themselves, Did not our hearts burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and when he opened to us the Scriptures?

33 And they rose up the same hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and them that were with them,

34 Which said, The Lord is risen indeed, and hath appeared to Simon.

35 Then they told what things were done in the way, and how he was known of them in [f]breaking of bread.
